Power Level: 8,678 The sun was hanging low in the sky, clouds fat with rain floated along languidely. They approached the bog sluggishly. There would be rain that night. Judging by the ponderous girth of the clouds, there would be a lot rain.
That would be perfect for Mugine. The waters would flood his bogs, assisting in their spread. The mud lizards, biting clams, and iron knight shells would celebrate with the moisture. Mugine hoped that some of the minor monsters would breed, naturally bolstering his little army.
"Yeaarrgh!!" The fat little man screamed as he fell on his ass. A creature with a spiral shell, pointed at the tip, was latched onto his leg. Teeth dug into his calf in a vice like grip. Blood dribbled crimson through its teeth.
"Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!" Thd man screamed, tugging at the creature desperately, "Help!! For Kami's sake! Help me!!! Somebody!"
There was a slushing sound of water, and he gasped, trying to turn around as best as he could with the monster latched on. He saw several more of those little creatures coming towrd him. He started hyperventilating... they would eat him alive!
The man began punching desperately at the Biting Clam latched on to him. He wouldn't be able to run with the damn thing chewing his leg.
Jaci didn’t enjoy the rain too much if she was honest, it always felt like it was dampening her sense skill as she got constantly distracted with the drumming going on as water impacted the world around her. She had seen the clouds building and had taken to her heels, looking for somewhere else to hunker down while waiting for it all to just fade again. The world after the rain was always so much more beautiful, and everything had the most beautiful shine to it. Well seemingly except here. She really hadn’t been paying attention and had turned up somewhere she didn’t much like. The world here felt heavy and kind of wrong if there were ever a better way to describe the atmosphere of a bog to her mind that’d be it. She started to look around rather carefully, hoping to find some means to just get away from this place, but she didn’t want to go back into the coming rain, so forwards was the only real path.
Opting to float instead of walk through the mess and was using her best stick to gently poke at the strange not ground not water that bogs always made. You just couldn’t trust the floor around these parts, it was while she was curious about a strange looking lump that she heard the screams in the distance and while it was probably a bad idea to head straight into trouble. It would probably prove to be a better distraction than whatever was half under the bog anyway. The demon coming across a rather strange looking individual, she’d not seen anything like him before, it might have been a demon she’d had the displeasure of meeting back in the realm but he felt kind of wrong. She couldn’t put her finger on why. Best not to be too friendly. Though it did seem like he needed some help. There were several things from the bog coming for him, maybe that was what was throwing her sense off here.
Raising a hand calmly she started a barrage of small blasts, hoping to distract and knock back the things walking towards the stranger. Though she didn’t opt to try and call out or reassure the stranger just yet. Sometimes it paid to see how they reacted to her before she opened her mouth and made it more obvious that she was a demon than she should.
Power Level: 8,678 The farmer gasped when the ki blasts slammed into the biting crabs, easily destroying them, sending them spraying out in clumps of shell and mush. He screamed when the one clamped on his leg was blown off, nearly taking his leg with it.
He stared dumbly around at the area, then down at his leg where the biting clam had been ripped off. What had just happened?
“Hello??” He called out, not sure where the thing that had saved him was… at least he hoped it had saved him. He wouldn’t be surprised if there was a monster here that just wanted to blow away the small fries to get to him.
He had to get out of here… but his leg? He tried to pull his leg inward so he could try to stand up, but he hissed in pain. There was no way he could move it, much less walk on it.
Jaci seemed a touch confused at just what was going on, with the thing that was biting him removed it was rather obvious that the person she had accidentally saved was in fact a human. Her senses clearly needed some work. She stepped forwards carefully after the human called out to her, trying to stay out of reach despite the likelihood that she was going to be the one capable of killing him were the need to arise.
“Hello? Am Jaci”
It would have to do as a response. She didn’t want to have to check the book just yet to see what she needed to say to ask him the question, with any luck the slightly confused greeting should have done the job of making it assume that she wasn’t all that hostile. To add to that she wasn’t using any of her energy for a change. Just to be sure, humans tended to freak out about the whole flying around and firing energy. That was when the suits came out. Having said that, she wasn’t sure just what this man was doing here in the first place. If it turned out he was harming this natural yet unnatural world, he was already dead.
Upon seeing the demoness the farmer sighed in relief, "Oh geeze. Thank you! Thank you, THANK YOU."
He couldn't express his gratitude enough. So who cared if his saivor was a small girl with weird skin and a horn. She saved his life. Dying beggars can't be choosers. Well... they could be, but that would probably result in them just being... dead beggars.
"Listen! I was trying to take a shortcut to go home! But the forest started to get all weird, and swampy," he grimmanced and held up a handful of the mud he was sitting in, "And then those monsters ambushed me and... please I just need help getting home!!" Words:112 Total words:490
Jaci was actually a little happy seeing someone so happy to see her. It didn’t happen anything like often enough, ever really. Her father had considered her nothing but a disappointment. The humans had mostly tried to kill her, and people being just this happy about her presence made her grin a little stupidly and nod to the man, drifting over to try and listen to what he was telling her regarding the area. It was apparently not always like this and this happened recently? How strange, maybe something was unnatural around here that she could maybe fix? She looked at the mud the man held up, it must have been vaguely important if he was showing it to her. But she couldn’t really see anything about it other than it was really goopy mud that probably shouldn’t be here.
“Where is home? Jaci can’t stray far.”
She hoped he would understand what she meant by that, it was more than just curiosity, she didn’t want to venture too far out into the world unless more humans decided that they were less than happy to see her and more power suits came to harm her once again. It would be quite the ordeal, she’d barely gotten over her loss to the last one that had taken her home from her. The little demon looked lost in thought at the trail of thought and trying to figure out just what could be the cause of the sudden swampland. It was likely beyond her if she was honest. She didn’t understand anything like as much nature as she should considering her time here.
The farmer blinked at Jaci’s strangely accented english. He hoped she had understood him. Maybe he should speak slower? He cleared his throat and then pointed northward.
“My farm is that way,” he spoke much slower, trying to enunciate more clearly, “A few miles.”
When Jaci asked about the swamp, he looked around, his brow furrowed, “I don’t know! It just started with some muddy areas, even though we haven’t gotten any more rain than usual? And then it just got muddier and muddier, and soon these monsters started showing up and-”
He stopped, realizing he was talking a little fast again, so cleared his throat and spoke slowly again, “Uh. I don’t know.”
He tried to stand up, but he couldn’t put any weight on his leg. The farmer cried out in pain, and then settled back with his teeth gritted in pain. He looked over to Jaci and then held his hand out, “Uh… a little help??”
There was no way be he’d be able to walk out of this swamp. Even if the ground wasn’t muddy and treacherous, he still wouldn’t have been able to walk far. His leg wasn’t bleeding to dangerous levels, he wouldn’t need a tourniquet, but it definitely was mangled, muscles torn. He didn’t think it was broken… at least he hoped not. She turned a little to look at where he was pointing. That wasn’t a good thing, he was looking at leaving the area and going back to where the humans lived. They probably wouldn’t react well to little Jaci. Humans rarely seemed to deal well with the little demon and her lack of understanding. She just didn’t get what they wanted from her most of the time, she was always just acting like she normally did and then they freaked out, started shouting at her and she had to flee.
He didn’t know either what had happened here. So, it was some sort of strange occurrence that had caused the natural loveliness here turn into strange muddy swampland with odd biting creatures that had caused the humans problems. On the one hand she kind of wanted to just leave the human here to his fate, it’d mean one less human to cause her problems down the line. However, if she was nice to them. They might turn out to be friends with her like the little monkey girl that visited her in the forest before it was burned down.
She wasn’t entirely sure if she should just take that hand being offered or not, it could be a bit of a trick from the human. But considering that he was having trouble with the silly little biting thingies. She didn’t think that he would pose much of a threat towards her if she was careful and kept a close eye on him. Ignoring his hand to an extent, the demon gently picked him up by the collar and floated up a little, just enough so that his feet weren’t touching the ground. This seemed like a better way of getting him home since he seemed to be having some trouble moving on the injured leg.
“Okay, Jaci help home. No tricky things.”
She started to gently float the pair at a leisurely pace back in the direction he had pointed them towards, hoping that it was in fact the correct direction and that these miles he spoke of weren’t too long a way away. She wanted to get back to the area and see just what was going on with the strangeness. Maybe there was a source she could decipher and stop, or take it away to somewhere else and cause less problems in a better area for swampland.
Kondai was wanting to explore more of Earth today, after all, it was a pretty big planet with lots to see so simply staying on the continent that he landed initially on was a waste of exploration potential, something that he didn't want to waste. If he was going to be here until he could afford a new ship that could take him home then he wanted to enjoy every bit of his stay here on Earth and see every last nook and cranny of it that he possibly could. Kondai was currently walking on the beach but he wanted to see what was out over the ocean and so... he decided to get to work, lifting off and heading out over the ocean.
The ocean breeze felt really nice and the smell of saltwater was pretty strong as he flew overhead, the ocean was absolutely beautiful to Kondai, he'd never really seen an ocean before since going to the edge of the Sadalan continent was too risky for average civilians since more often than not there was Republic scum there, so for Kondai seeing this ocean was an amazing experience that he would remember for a long long time. However, he wouldn't be able to enjoy it for too much longer, he noticed the sky beginning to darken a little bit and clouds starting to form, which was somewhat concerning Kondai.
The sky seemed to grow dark and darker the further out to see Kondai went, he was beginning to have second thoughts and wanting to head back but he quickly realized that he was a strong Saiyan warrior so a storm was nothing to someone like him and so Kondai courageously kept flying further, although this was pretty useless courage as Kondai had plenty reason to be concerned as he would soon see by the gigantic vortex of water that was up ahead. Kondai's eyes widened the moment he saw it but by then it was already too late...
This vortex was not a normal one, immediately Kondai felt himself being sucked in despite putting all of his strength into resisting it. Kondai gritted his teeth and pushed out ki to propel himself further out of it as best he could but to absolutely no avail, he wasn't budging, in fact, he was only tiring himself out for himself to be inevitably pulled right into it. Kondai let out a scream as he felt himself flip right through the air and into the vortex. Kondai searched around the vortex as he spun around in it and soon enough was spat out the top.
Kondai was knocked unconscious by the massive storm and was spat into the water by it, landing on his back and floating there. The waves were slowly but surely drifting him to safety though. Within a few hours of drifting in the ocean, he began to approach the shores of Papaya Island, a fairly large Island. Kondai soon hit the sandy shores before long and within another hour or two he began to stir from the hot afternoon sun glaring directly into his face.
"Ugh... man... Where the hell did that storm throw me off to?..."
Kondai spoke slowly as he sat up in the sand, looking around with blurred vision to see crabs scuttling across the wet sand, sea shells, clams, scallops, and starfish plastered sparingly across the beach, and palm trees hanging over with coconuts both ripe and not ripe hanging off of them. Kondai immediately felt his stomach growl after looking around. How long had he been out for? Either way it didn't matter, Kondai was going to get some food and then he was going to figure out just where the hell he ended up.
Kondai stood and made his way over to one of the crabs he saw before and immediately blasted it with a ki blast, killing it and cooking it at the same time. It probably wouldn't taste as good as something actually cooked properly but hell, it was better than nothing to be honest. Kondai quickly picked up his dinner before looking over to a palm tree and giving it a solid smack to make a coconut drop out of it, catching the coconut out of the air as it fell, now he had a source of water to drink AND dessert as well.
Kondai didn't take long to begin to devour the crab, surprisingly even without the proper preparations it was still absolutely delicious, though he did feel a little bad for the poor crab he killed he knew there were tons of crabs out there so the difference of one or two didn't exactly matter a whole hell of a lot. After he finished eating the crab he immediately peeled off the coconut husk and cracked it open before quickly drinking up all of the water and then wiping his face and eating the meat.
Kondai let out a light belch after finishing his meal before standing a looking around, he then began to speak quietly to himself.
"Okay, food and water is taken care of, now to figure out where I am and if anyone else is on this island or if it's legitimately just me, this should be a learning experience either way I suppose."
With that, Kondai made his way off the beach and out onto the mainland, soon finding an actual dirt road suggesting that people DID actually live here and sure enough he was soon seeing houses, people, farms, all sorts of stuff along the journey down the road. What piqued his interest however was a farm that seemed a little bigger than the others he had seen. Kondai was a city boy back on Sadala so he had never really seen a farm before, Kondai was actually a little bit excited for this experience.
Kondai soon casually walked into the farm through the front gates, looking around casually at all the livestock and crops. Kondai had an appreciation for all the small stuff he saw though it was admittably to him pretty boring, he kinda had a craving for a good fight, though he knew that this island was incredibly unlikely to provide any strong warriors, it seemed like a backwater island used mostly for farming from what he could tell by what all he'd seen thusfar. Not usually the kind of place that warriors just fall out for the sky at.
Kondai sighed before he decided that the best way he was going to find out information about this place would be to try to get in contact with this farm's owner, doing that would likely allow him to figure out where he was and therefor the direction to get home from here. It was definitely worth a shot to say the least, and so Kondai slowly walked up into the clearing and used his ki sense to try to locate wherever the farmer who owned this place might be.
Power Level: 8,678 “Thanks a lo- eh??” the farmer blinked when Jaci floated over and then actually lifted him up by his collar, “Gack!”
He adjusted so that his shirt wasn’t choking him and then settled back down. It wasn’t the most comfortable. But it was way better than walking on his injured leg, “Er, thank you.”
After a few minutes of quiet floating, the farmer cleared his throat, “So, er, you’re one of those guys that can fly and shoot them Kahmayuhs, right? That’s gotta be handy, I guess.”
Then again, she hadn’t been able to talk well. Would she even understand his prattling? Ugh, this was awkward. He settled back more comfortably in her hold, or as much as he could…
After several long minutes the swamp began to turn back into the forest the farmer was more familiar with. The sounds of animals began to return. Even the skies seemed a little brighter…
“Yeah! We’re almost there!” He pointed slightly more towards their left, “There! Down that way. Just a bit more.”
As the farmer and Jaci stepped free from the woods, they could spot Kondai from across the clearing.
“Eh?” the farmer grunted in surprise, “L-lots of strangers today…” Word Count: 207 Total Word Count: 929
Jaci seemed mostly uncaring of his discomfort, frankly with how much humanity had tried to harm or ruin her life and how much her father had made humanity out to be some kind of terrifying monster. She’d been learning that this wasn’t quite the case, but there was still some instances of humanity that scared her quite a bit. Mostly in the devices that they seemed to make that made Jaci’s own power seem irrelevant. She did however manage to beam a little smile at the farmer at the words of thank you, she at least understood that bit and nodded to him.
“Jaci can fly, always can. Why no human fly?”
Jaci’s happy smile turned brighter as they walked back to the more natural form of nature, hearing the little noises of the animals was a relaxing little thing for her, she’d missed hearing them after the wrecking of her own forest. She nodded as he pointed and then turned and following the pointing direction. She did try and strike up some conversation however, it seemed worthwhile.
“Human live here long? Jaci is new.. Sort of.”
Though once Jaci spotted kondai she gently put down the farmer and edged backwards, warily, the girl clearly nervous and unwilling to move towards the stranger. She could sense how strong he was. It might even have been the trap that she had been expecting from the farmer when she’d first found him. This wasn’t all that good. She didn’t have anywhere to really run to and she needed time to just vanish to another location.
“…. Jaci no hurt human.”
She had to make it clear that she wasn’t the cause of this man’s injuries, but she didn’t really know how to say she had saved him, how to say that she had in fact aided him. She didn’t think it’d be a good idea to go produce the book either, she didn’t want to drop her gaze from the stranger in front of them both.
Kondai at first didn't even notice the two strangers as he was busy looking around and thinking of where to look first, in fact, he was SO unattentive that he glossed his eyes over the two of them two or three times before he heard them speaking and it suddenly clicked in his head that they were there and that the guy and the girl must be related to this farm somehow, the girl didn't appear to be from around here or from Earth even so the only logical deduction was that the man over there was the owner of the farm.
Kondai slowly walked over to the farmer with an extended hand and a slightly warm and friendly smile on his face.
"Hello there, my name is Kondai. I came here to try to get some information. See, I was flying out over the ocean out past South City and I got caught in a storm and fell into the ocean after being knocked out and I washed ashore on the beach, I was wondering if you could tell me where I am and the direction to get back to the main continent."
Kondai explained carefully and slowly, he knew he probably already startled them both just by the sheer fact that he was here, it wasn't every day a strange man with a tail came roaming into a random farm in the middle of god even knows where. Though this was a nice little island, he knew he should definitely remember the location of it so he could come back here sometime as it would probably make a damn good place to do some training.
Kondai then noticed the girl was kinda hiding, she seemed scared of him, Kondai tilted his head curiously at her and gave her a confused look before smiling and laughing. He then extended her a hand.
"Don't worry, I'm not here to hurt you, I'm just lost is all. I'm Kondai as I said previously, it's nice to meet you."
This girl looked incredibly alien, unlike anything Kondai had ever seen previously. She must not of been from this planet either but he wasn't going to say anything out loud so as not to give her away if she was trying to blend in. He was a little bit nicer than that after all. However soon when she mentioned she didn't hurt him Kondai saw the man's leg and let out a small gasp.
"What happened to you sir? Did somebody do this to you?"
Kondai spoke in a sincere tone of mild worry. If someone was out here attacking people then Kondai couldn't just let that slide, he would have to go and put a stop to it.

Power Level: 8,678 When Jaci put him down, he winced and had to adjust his weight on his leg, “oof.” But then noticed that the girl had shied back away and behind him. Which was odd considering she had just saved his life.
“You okay?” He asked her with a little concern. Why was she afraid of this guy? Did she know him?
The farmer turned back to Kondai as he approached them and shook his hand. The farmer shook back more out of habit than anything, then listened as Kondai began explaining his tale. How he had been flying over the ocean (seems like everyone could fly no a days. How do they do that?) And how he had got caught in a storm and washed ashore here (how in the heck had he not drowned?).
“Er, right. This is Papaya Island,” the farmer answered Kondai, and scratched his head, “The main continent would be northward. Over yonder.”
He then glanced between Jaci and Kondai, didn’t seem like they knew each other. So why’s the girl so darn skittish? When Kondai expressed concern over his leg, the farm glanced down and grimaced at the bloodied pant leg.
“No one DID this to me,” he grunted, “It was those damn clam monsters in the bog. This miss here actually rescued me from them.”
The farmer nodded at Jaci and gave her a warm smile so that she knew he was grateful to her, and that she didn’t need to run off. Or… uh, fly off? Whichever one. Basically, she didn’t need to leave. Word Count: 264 Total Word Count: 929
Jaci was definitely of the twitchy persuasion now as the Saiyan approached, her brief time with Lettuki had shown her just how violent and powerful the Saiyan race could be, and she didn’t fancy her chances in another fight with one of those things. She was thankful for the time spent studying the book she’d been given, that little translation was a wonderful thing. But she decided very quickly to hide behind the curtain of poor language with this strange one. She stared at his hand and leaned away from it, being very careful to not have the palm facing her.
“si mi tesantamaso, jaci ui hefoc lettuki”
She wanted to know if the name meant anything to him, either his or her own. If there was a connection to Lettuki maybe he was concerned for her and had found one of his own kind to seek her out. While very similar to humanity, the strange tailed versions seemed inherently nicer to her than humanity had been. Maybe it was the closer connection to animals.
“Kon.. dai. Big human, fluffy tail. Bad moon”
She didn’t intend it to make a whole lot of sense, at least to the farmer. The likelihood was that Kondai knew what it was that was scaring her about him now, though her gaze did sweep out towards the way the farmer mentioned. It might be worth running for it the opposite direction to that. No sense heading towards yet more humans all things considered. Though soon enough the little demon was looking back towards the bogland that she had just carried the farmer from and gently rubbed the stub of a horn under her hair before carefully moving the white as snow strands back into place, leaving only the intact little horn exposed.
“Jaci find..”
She gave the farmer a beaming little smile back, it was there and gone quick as a flash before the demon huffed a little and started to float just a little off the ground, fully intending to go back towards the bog. It would probably be better than staying here, outnumbered by humanity and scared for her life now that this human had led her straight to a powerful warrior. Thankfully the conversation seemed rather pleasant instead of threatening like she’d expected. But it was hard to shake a decade of having the same fact drilled into you over one nice meeting
Kondai just looked confused at the girl, that gibberish meant absolutely nothing to him, the Lettuki part though sounded like a Saiyan name but even that was subjective since it could just be the way the words of the language she was speaking blended together, so all around he just gave her the most confused face he could before he spoke.
"Uh... I'm sorry, I have no idea what you mean by that but... You have a nice language I guess?"
Kondai complimented her before the farmer answered his question, Kondai smiled and nodded, now he knew where he was and was capable of getting back to more familiar territory, first though Jaci seemed to be saying something else. Not wanting to be rude Kondai opened his ears up and listened as closely as he could. What he heard from the jumbled up and badly pronounced heap of words mortified him. She knew somehow about the Saiyan's Great Ape form, a form even Kondai had a great fear of. He went kind of pale at her mention of it before he sweated a bit nervously.
"Us Saiyans can... unfortunately... turn into giant uncontrollable monster apes yes. But the moon has to be full for it to happen or I need a large amount of a thing called Blutz Waves. You're safe with me, I promise."
Kondai spoke as slowly as he could, he didn't expect her to fully get it but he hoped that she would hopefully understand that he meant no harm and there was currently no chance he could turn at the moment. The moment the farmer mentioned some odd monsters out by the beach Kondai gave a look to him, one that was a mix between suprise, determination, and a hint of enthusiasm. Kondai soon spoke and walked up closer to the man.
"Well, looks like you met the right guy for the job. I'll go take care of those monsters for you. My name is Kondai as I believe I stated before. Just a roving warrior with a good heart. I won't let them hurt anyone else like they did you, I promise."
Kondai said while he extended his hand to the farmer with a warm smile. Kondai was an unusual person, not the kind of guy that most people would ever meet, he found pride and joy in fighting for the justice of others and the glory of taking down those who cause injustice to others. Be it a cruel warlord or a scary beach monster.
After all was said and done Kondai gave a quick wave and followed Jaci close behind, following her to the bog, he had absolutely every intention of fighting alongsider her against these monsters that the farmer had mentioned just because he didn't want anyone else getting their leg caught by it, Kondai didn't particularly know if it would be a challenge or not though his saiyan blood made him come to hope that there would be some trouble to be had, it wouldn't be that fun otherwise.
