Jack Cyprus, Commander of the Red Ribbon Army and CEO of the Red Ribbon Corporation, was standing atop one of his favorite places in the world. Muscle Tower. The Android stood in a thick winter coat, emblazoned with the symbol of the company of course, as the wind whipped at him wildly from the dazzling height. Looking out over the no longer oppressed Jingle Village, he felt more comfortable than ever in his new life. After spending so much time here in his youth, training weeks at a time against the ever changing challenges that Muscle Tower presented.
Jack had hoped to get better acquainted with his body during his visit here, however something else had captured his attention nearby. Pulling the device from his pocket and turning it on, the Android flew overhead slowly, the Dragon Radar scanning for the signal it detected previously. He couldn’t be certain if the device worked properly, seeing as how he hadn’t heard of too many people summoning the dragon in the past couple centuries. The radar was a newly finished version of the device created by the Capsule Corporation so many years ago, back when Jack was still a normal soldier. The field test was going well enough, although that was due to the fact that the test was merely to see if it would activate and work as programmed.
Jack has been carrying it around for some time now, testing it occasionally to see if he would find anything unusual, or in this case something incredible. Ever since that night at Pilaf’s Castle, the Android has dreamed of summoning the eternal dragon. It’s something that any man could dream of, but having been so close in his previous life has left him hungering. Not just for the wish, either, but to simply lay eyes on the event himself would be enough. If the radar works, he may just as easily make more for his companions, and then they too can help him in achieving his dream.
Shaking the thought from his mind, Jack attempted to settle into a more reasonable mindset. It was a bit too easy to get carried away when talking about such things as dreams and aspirations, even within ones own head. As he flew through the outskirts of Jingle Village, He found it easy to get lost in his own musings. The little houses nestled in all that snow, with their chimneys alight and smoke billowing lightly from them made quite the scene. Taking a moment to appreciate them, however, made Jack a touch saddened. He had always wanted a little house like these, perhaps even within Jingle Village itself. The thought of purchasing a small plot of land on the outskirts was a rather attractive one, and something he would consider once he had time to settle somewhere a little more permanent.
Feeling himself drawn to these people and their simplistic lives, the Android felt a bit of jealousy at the prospect of being able to just live. He had never actually known anything different than the Red Ribbon Army growing up, and war and battle were his home. Moving away from the village was likely the best option for him at the moment, as he continued to lose control of his emotions. His mind flashed back to the briefing he had been given so long ago, when he had first awoken. The so called ‘general’, it being a mercenary force makes the title seem illegitimate somehow, and informations head had been rather... careful with their words.
"We tracked you down by looking at files we found in quite a few abandoned shelters, although none seemed to point out the actual location of you or anyone else." The general stated, looking through a large stack of papers on the table in front of him. Jack nodded once sharply before speaking. "It seems as though you were hoping on finding more than just myself. What's going on?"
"We still don't know what else might be out there, but the information from your bunker might give us some insight. However," the general would lead into his next topic. "We need you Commander. We have a way for you to understand everything that's going on, but first I'd like to ask you to join the army. We'll reinstate you as Commander, as well as give you whatever you need. We want to build a new special forces similar to what you and your operatives were." Jack would nod again. "So you need a new Ripper Corps. and you want me to piece it together." Both would nod, with the Head of informations handing him a portable device. "Plug into this and it'll give you what you need to know. Anytime we need you, or any time you need to find something, use this. It'll be your link to the database. Your quarters are already prepared for you, so go ahead and get some relaxation in while we figure out this new data. We'll let you know if we find anything that concerns you."
A few of those words brought him some thought. It seemed as though they were looking for more Androids. Not only that, but mentioning the Rippers was no accident. They were looking for other personnel from his unit, perhaps some that had been instrumental in his operations. That being said, only three came to mind, and he wasn't so sure they were still alive. His close knit command squad were good, but he couldn't assume they were turned into androids as well. It'd be a miracle if they were. Perhaps even she...
No. He told himself immediately to stop that dangerous train of thought, as it only became more and more prevalent that he was being affected by his past sentiments. There was no way of knowing whether or not any of them could have been chosen simply in relation to himself, and further no guarantee that they would have survived. And this line of thought could only prove more dangerous if he actually succeeded in collecting the mythical orbs, as he wasn’t even sure that they had the ability to bring back someone from over two centuries ago. No, if they are still alive, he thought, then they will be found.
Finally roused from his musings, Jack realized that he had allowed himself to drift a reasonable distance into the snowy wastes, with Muscle Tower being a distant light amidst the drifting snow. Remembering his reason for being out here, Jack reached into his pocket and grabbed the radar, activating it once more...
