Character Name:
Valla
Gender:
Female
Race:
Saiyan-Human Hybrid
Racial Traits:
The Tail of a Saiyan
Every Saiyan in Universe 7 is born with a tail. This gives them the ability to harness Blutz waves and transform into the Great Ape known as Oozaru. For a Saiyan, an untrained tail can be a fatal flaw. If the Saiyan has an untrained tail and it is squeezed by an opponent the Saiyan will be absolutely helpless. The Saiyan will find themselves paralyzed and their power level will be reduced to 0 once their tail is squeezed. This can be avoided though, with the use of a technique slot a Saiyan can train their tail and prevent this from happening. This weakness will be applied to all transformations until the tail is trained.
Zenkai:
Upon receiving life threatening damage a Saiyan is capable of gaining a power boost known as Zenkai. Though to do this the Saiyan must be near death and manage to recover from such injuries.
In a Battle, Death Enabled thread, or Saga event if a Saiyan's health drops below 5% and they survive their gains for that thread are doubled OR they gain a flat 10% bonus to their Power Level, whichever is larger!
Good Bargains:
Humans are generally good at finding the best deals around!
20% off all purchases at the Red Ribbon Market!
Intelligence:
Humans are very intelligent creatures, they're typically capable of learning more in less time than other races. Given this, they get an additional Training Point at every other 15K interval.
EX. 5k-1, 10k-1, 15k-2; You would skip getting 2 on 30K and so on. They still gain the 25k interval bonus as well.

984
Age:
16

Balanced
Valla is fairly short. In fact, she is only four feet and five inches in total height (135 cm) Her skin is somewhat paler than a full blooded Saiyan, but she otherwise has inherited all of the recessive traits that Saiyan blood has to offer. Her hair is black, and hangs down in a bit of a shaggy manner.
She has a cute button monkey-like nose and rounded ears. She has sharp features to her jawline and higher cheekbones. Her body is a bit on the thinner side, but still retains the general Saiyan thickness. She was born with a tail, which reaches to the floor and is just as black as her hair.
Valla has a sharp form to her eyes, with thick eyelashes. However, she is always staring straight forward, sometimes with her lids drooped a bit heavily. Her eyes are a foggy off-blue color, the fog making her pupils almost non-present.
She has a few different outfits, but her favorite outfit is an oddly green and orange colored hoodie with short sleeves. She also wears a dark blue and skin tight jump suit beneath it, the hoodie being long enough on her to work like a dress. Valla also enjoys wearing thin well-fitted fingerless gloves of the same orange hue, which extend halfway up the forearm. Upon her feet are boots, similar in style to the regular battle armor boots, but the main color is black and the tip and heel are orange, as well as the soles.
History:
Valla grew up on earth, with her Saiyan father and human mother. They moved away from the cities and towns after her birth, due to terrible tantrums and outbursts. Raising her was rather difficult for both her father, Kohlrob (roughly six-feet tall and long haired) and her mother Mai (who is five-foot-six and keeps her brown hair braided and over one shoulder.)
Worse than her tantrums, however, was the fact of Valla being born blind. Often times, she needed to be restrained by her tail and Kohlrob even had to sometimes tightly bind it with one of Mai's thin scarves so he and Mai could complete work around the house and farm. Whereas Kohlrob had removed his own tail, in order to ensure the safety of his wife, he knew that Valla would likely need hers even into adulthood. He was unsure if seeing a moon would affect her, but he made sure to keep his guard up.
Once, Valla had been tantruming and when Kohlrob attempted to calm her she shot a mouth beam and blew a hole in the ceiling. Mai wanted to call it a Wawa Beam, but as Valla grew older she disagreed with the name, finding it embarrassing. Instead, she named it the Cry Beam. Valla was sure she could do it again, but has had difficulty learning how.
From an outside perspective, one might have thought that Kohlrob hated the little monkey girl. He always seemed uninterested in her. Though he did feel sickened at the disability, and did shy from her and seemed hateful, he really did care and was simply spending his time and thought to figure out how to raise her to be able to care for herself and fight for herself. Especially due to losing his own left eye, he was actually very protective of her and watched Valla closely. However, not being one to share his thoughts, it did come as quite a shock to Mai when Valla was sitting in the middle of the floor at 3 years old, only to be shot with a weak energy blast and mildly bounced across the room.
The toddler sat, in shock, for a moment before entirely breaking into tears as Mai rushed to her and held her in her arms, while also holding the base of her tail firmly. It caused quite an argument, but after this Kohlrob frequently continued to do this to Valla at the least expected times. Minus her times asleep.
After over half a year of this treatment, Valla began being able to sense when the attacks would come and start dodging. As she grew older her demeanor calmed to an almost startling amount. She never cried, and her voice and expressions were always monotone and dead. Unless she was grumpy. But her mother taught her to speak. She was taught shapes and letters. Mai even taught her how to count and do math in her head. And what each animal she heard was.
Kohlrob, on the other hand, trained her. Valla felt intimidated in her father's presence, mostly because he outwardly acted harshly towards her and was very tough. Sometimes as they trained, he would nearly beat her to unconsciousness (He and Mai having many arguments on the matter) but despite injuries caused, Valla wanted to train more. She wanted to prove to her father that she wasn't weak, or pathetic.
She had no idea that it hurt Kohlrob to be so brutal. He wasn't too different from your average Saiyan father. But he loved his only daughter and he wanted to spoil her. But spoiling would make her weak, and Valla could never afford that.
One day, to his surprise, as they sat and ate breakfast he noticed his daughter looking straight into his face. When Mai noticed his expression of surprise and confusion, she realized what was going on as well. Through the darkness that imprisoned her mind so heavily, Valla saw color. It was wispy like soft flames and it formed in soft greyish white around Kohlrob. She then looked directly at Mai and saw the same thing. She could sense them and see them within her head. Even some of the houseplants and the birds outside had a weak energy. But the remainder of the room was entirely black.
After she had explained what she saw and felt to them, Kohlrob spent much of their training to help her sense energy until the greyish white became colors. She could sense and see life all around her, in a sphere. But Kohlrob advised that she continue to act as though that power did not exist, so that if she could not sense a threat's energy, she could still fight it.
As the power became honed she could tell if someone's emotions, if they had good or bad intentions, and sometimes if they were sick. They eventually began bringing her with them to town. But they never enrolled her in school, knowing that would give their daughter nothing useful. Eventually Valla became almost obsessed with training. But when she became 10 years, they decided it was best for her to help with the farming. Being best for her health, and also helpful as it was their only source of income.
Years passed by, this way and Valla became 16 (present day.) She made no friends, except with a small white cat that managed to find their home. Things had been peaceful, but that did cause Kohlrob to feel nervous. But he was proud of his daughter's hard work and determination. And the whole ordeal made him realize how wrong other Saiyans are about what makes a strong warrior. If this is what all blind Saiyans could do, it would be a useful asset. He even found that lying to her was nigh-impossible. He was unsure if she could hear heartbeats or see a change in their energies. But she somehow almost always knew.
His one current concern was that his daughter stopped growing at a short four feet and five inches. And she constantly tried to eat a modest amount of food, like her mother. No matter how much he explained the importance of eating her fill.
As for her tail, she kept it and used it as a tail is used. But because of its excess length, compared to normal Saiyan tails, she also kept it touching the ground to sense vibrations. Though, mostly, she kept it around herself as a belt. Though it had the tendency to be bit more sash-like due to length versus waist size.
For the time being, life would remain as is. Peaceful, calm, and quiet. Work in the morning, training in the afternoon, lessons at night. And that was fine with Valla.
Personality:
Valla comes off as cold, numb, deadpan, etc. She tends to cross her arms and stand in a way akin to any angsty teenager. When she speaks, it's very brief. Sometimes she speaks wise truths. Other times it just sounds like dry annoyance.
She is a good hearted being, and does want to do good to help Earth. But being secluded and even rarely hearing the news, she is quite a bit ignorant of the world and its troubles.
Mostly she enjoys the company of plants and animals, and sometimes sings to them (as her mother tends to play music on the radio more than watching television.) But other than that, and being a blind monkey girl, she would come off as a pretty average teenager.
If she isn't training or working, she is sitting somewhere and concentrating on growing her senses. Or thinking of what she could do to fix a mistake made during training. Valla is, honestly, a simple creature with simple needs

Example Roleplay:
Valla awoke to the sound of chirping birds. The little Saiyan teenager snuggled beneath her puffy blanket for roughly ten minutes, enjoying the comfort. Mornings were always so peaceful. As she relaxed, Valla concentrated to sense the world around her, and see what everyone was up to. Her mother was in the kitchen, working on breakfast. Mai’s energy was warm and friendly. In the front yard she sensed Kohlrab doing something, perhaps preparing some fish to be cooked. His energy was like a calm fire. With a gentle sigh, she sat up from her bed and headed to the dresser. Removing a blue jumpsuit from the drawer, the little monkey girl got dressed; carefully pulling her tail through the hole. After this she pulled on an olive green hoodie with an orange zipper, pull strings, and pocket; as well as matching orange fingerless gloves. Once she got her socks and boots on, Valla was ready for the morning!
Mai greeted her little daughter, giving her an effervescent “Good morning!” as she placed some thick bacon in a pan. Valla walked past and waved to her, with her tail. This made her mother giggle to herself. “How I love my little monkey girl.” Within the bathroom was a small container, which held her toothbrush. She prepared the brush and scrubbed her teeth well, before spitting and rinsing. The brush was also rinsed off and placed back within its box. When this was finished, Valla headed back through the kitchen where her father was now placing the fish into a bowl for Mai to prepare.
It didn’t take her father long to notice her heading towards the door, hastening his steps to stop her. “Valla…” He sighed, reaching out for her tail. She tried to yank it out of the way and move faster out the door, but was too slow. With a quick flick of his wrist, the large man’s hand snapped around her tail. Almost instantly, the ki she sensed vanished from the world around her and the floor was very suddenly gone from her feet as she collapsed. However, the Saiyan father was careful to loop his arm around her torso and carry her back to her chair.
He released her tail and Valla’s senses returned to her body. Once the ki sense returned, she frowned to her father and crossed her arms; only to get her hair ruffled. “Valla, a Saiyan must eat.” His tone was calm and level. With a begrudging sigh, the half-saiyan devoured the food set before her until she eventually felt full. With a deep sigh, it was then that she asked, “May I go outside, now?” Kohlrab was helping pick up the dishes, but answered to her that “You may… But wait for me, we’re going to train rather than work. I took care of everything early, today.” Valla looked a bit more surprised and happy than usual, but then stated “I thought you were going to East City today.”
The Saiyan shook his head, “Your mother is going to go, but we’re going to train.” Valla nodded a bit, and headed outside. She was indeed excited, but always felt apprehension at the thought of her mother going to the city alone, since she wasn’t a Saiyan and sometimes even had trouble opening jars, of which she simply couldn’t understand as she had no trouble with that ever since she was practically a baby. But she waited in the front and after about twenty minutes, the two came out. Valla and her father saw Mai off, and wished her safe travels and love. Then, as the car faded into the distance of Mount Paozu, the two walked a fair measure from their home.
Just as they reached the very edge of where they trained, Kohlrab shot his hand out to grab Valla’s tail; she, however, was not having that twice in one day and spun around to kick his hand away. The male Saiyan dodged with a quick upward motion. “Good. I’m glad you’re paying attention.” He walked the remainder of the way to their field, but rather than taking his usual stance, he simply stood there with his arms crossed. “Uh…” was all Valla could say in her confusion. “We’re going to try getting the cry beam to work.” Valla batted her eyes in a bit of surprise at that statement. “You say that like it’s easy.”
Kohlrab shrugged “While I can’t do something along those lines, I can still help you learn. Now stand opposite of me, so I can stop any blast that may occur.” Valla did so. “Now think of the energies you see in people, and think of your own. And, think of the energy you sense as the small blasts are being shot. Imagine that, and try to replicate it.” Valla sighed, thinking this felt embarrassing. Why did she have to have a mouth beam? It would be great for a surprise attack if something was necessary, but… She took a deep breath in and concentrated, and when she thought she could do such she opened her mouth and closed her eyes tightly. But all the came forth was a monotone “Yaaa…”
Her father chuckled and shook his head. “Again, Valla.” She concentrated harder, but then another false attack. And another, and another, for what felt like forever. The man scowled at the thought; felt sickened to even say such a thing. “Maybe your mother isn’t coming back from East City. Anything could happen to her, after all… she’s only a human.” Valla paused with her mouth a bit agape. The way he stated it was in such a matter-of-fact tone. “Maybe a car hit hers or someone shoots her at the store.” She scowled at him and muttered for him to shut up. But the thought angered her, and it angered her even more that he would say something so bad.
“Oh well… I suppose it wouldn’t really matter if she died. All she does for us Saiyans is cook and clean.” He chuckled a bit and shrugged for her to see. “Shut. Up. Shut up… DON’T YOU EVER SAY THAT AGAIN, JUST SHUT UP!!” she screamed so hard that it hurt, but then an odd sensation tingled and welled up in her throat… Kind of similar to getting sick, but less gross. As she shouted, a beam shot forth from her mouth and Kohlrab blocked against it. The force burnt the sleeves of his work clothes a bit, but he was otherwise unscathed. He smiled to himself for being able to get it out of her, but frowned when he saw the face of anger and tears streaming down her cheeks. Kohlrab walked to her and pulled her into an embrace, stroking her hair.
“Your mother is fine, Valla.” A sharp feeling struck him that caused the man to grit his teeth, and he looked down to see that she bit his arm! “Don’t say things like that…” she grumbled. “Can… I try again?” Kohlrab rubbed his arm a bit but chuckled and stated that she could. Now that she knew the feeling it was much easier. After about 30 tries, with 12 of them making beams, her mother came home. She was greeted by a big hug from her little monkey girl. They worked together making dinner and spent the rest of the night relaxing and drinking tea, for Valla’s throat. It wasn’t often that she raised her voice. By the time it was night she felt very worn, but hoped to keep up with the training so she could have a surprise attack if she needed one someday.
Valla bathed and reversed her morning schedule, then laid down for sleep, almost passing out the moment her head hit the pillow. The day hadn’t been very long, but it had definitely taken a lot of her energy out to practice her Cry Beam. As she closed her eyes she saw the birds sleeping in the trees and her parents already asleep in their own room. The quiet of the mountain range was soothing and drifted her off to sleep.
