Upon his first return to planet Namek Jhelks had undertaken a grand journey to cross the large planets rolling plains and witness the beauty of his home world with his own two eyes. Once that soul invigorating trek had come to an end however the warrior had found himself mostly dwelling within the caverns and tunnels of his dark brothers. Rare was it that Jhelks visited the surface of Namek unless he was hired to take part in a raid, perhaps his urge to bask in the light of Namek's three suns than was the reason than that Jhelks now found himself standing upon a plateau of blue grass awaiting contact with someone seeking to hire him for a job.
A subtle breeze rustled the blue blades of plant matter along the plateau as the triplet suns of Namek blazed overhead, and while Jhelks found himself growing annoyed at waiting for his contact. He could not deny the serenity he felt from the open nature that was his world. Far below the plateau top fields stretched for dozens of miles before turning to a beach that gave way to the green ocean. "One day. One day my brothers will live with such beauty at our feet instead of above our heads." Jhelks spoke aloud, as if voicing his thoughts would make them true.
Finally a spark of energy flashed through Jhelks's mind as he sensed a life force approaching him. Turning away from the glittering sea the young warrior watched as two figures fly rapidly through the air towards his position, only one of them gave off a energy presence for him to sense. When the pair touched down upon the plateau Jhelks noticed that his contacts both appeared human, but of the animalish sub-race humans could occasional be born to. The one he could sense was a male with lupine features. The wolfman wore a finely tailored suit crested with the symbol of the Red Ribbon Market. The one he could not sense held the features of a woman with a mix of human and fish like biology. She was draped in a fashionable business suit of her own with a shawl spiraling around her body and long scaly tail.
"Your thirty minutes late. I would have thought a mermaid and a werewolf would know how to keep time." Jhelks stated gruffly, attempting to get a rise from the odd pair. The wolfish man let out a rolling laugh at the comment, his female companion remained completely stoic however. She didn't so much as bat an eyelash at Jhelks's words. "Yes yes, well our arrival was unavoidably delayed. However I am pleased to see that your commitment to the job kept you here to await us. I am Spice, and my lovely friend here is Sugar." the wolfman explained once his mirthful laughter had died down enough for him to speak. "As you know I let the word get out that I was looking to hire someone for a job. Someone who could work with discretion." Spice continued, a wicked smile revealing his sharp fangs.
Jhelks nodded at the wolfman's words, knowing well enough that what he said was true. Jhelks had actually learned of this gig through his old PTO contacts instead of through members of the Dark Clan, meaning this job would be something aimed more for personal gain than for factional advantage. "What exactly did you have in mind? What does someone from Red Ribbon need to outsource work for?" Jhelks asked as he crossed his arms over his chest, waiting for details on the job.
"Excellent, right to the point I see." Spice said as he began to pace back and forth through the lush grass, Sugar continued to stand unmoving. Her rigid posture was disconcerting to Jhelks. "The elder of Moori village has exacted a embargo on Red Ribbon goods entering or exiting his village. We may have had a shipping 'accident' that nearly allowed several Namekian artifacts to leave his lands against his wishes." Spice began to explain, his hands moving as he spoke, as if he could paint a literal picture in the air with them. "Needless to say relations have been strained of late. Something I have been tasked with repairing as soon as possible. Luckily I have a plan!" Spice continued, his long winded explanation beginning to cause great annoyance upon Jhelks's nerves.
"The elder is quite old you see, his children all grown Nameks. Word is he has adopted a young Majin within the last year. She has been officially accepted into his family line and is still quite incapable of looking out for herself." Spice went on, a malicious look in his eyes said everything else Jhelks needed to know. "You want me to kidnap her? Ransom her? I fail to see how that solves your embargo problems." Jhelks stated, truly not seeing a pleasant outcome to this plan. "Yes and no. I need you to kidnap her and hold her for a few days. Than Sugar here will rescue the girl from your vile clutches. 'Killing' you of course and returning the Majin to her elderly father. Thus bridging our partnership once more and lifting the embargo." Spice went on to flush out the details.
Jhelks had to admit this plan on the surface at least sounded plausible, but the warrior did see one concern. "Can this mermaid fight? For your plan to work the Majin will have to watch us battle. I sense no power from your friend." Jhelks asked, his words finally drawing a response from Sugar as she turned to stare at him with somewhat blank features. "Not to worry, Sugar is a top of the line combat android. If your not careful she truly may kill you." Spice said with a villainous chuckle. Jhelks guessed that 'Spice' likely wouldn't be bothered with such an outcome, in fact the Namekian figured it would wrap things up in a neat little bow for the human.
Still the money Jhelks was being offered was too much to ignore, and the mission certainly seemed like a challenge. "I accept your job. Once I have claimed the girl search for us three days later in the eastern fringe of the Maima Region towards the sea." Jhelks said as he turned his back and took to the sky, fully finished with speaking. "Oh excellent, excellent! We shall certainly see you than great warrior!" Spice called after him in a bubbly voice. The man's joy bringing a shiver to Jhelks spine.
