After all that waiting around, after hours of idling impatiently for his fight he would've heard his name called. He had to admit, he initially didn't expect that he'd be one of the first ones to enter the ring but it was apparently happening and he honestly couldn't have been more excited. 'Athren Vs Lettuki' Huh? He had to admit, it had one hell of a ring to it. Now, the only thing Athren didn't prepare for was scoping this fighter out. He didn't meet him prior, nor did he get to see him fight therefore he was going into this fight blind. It was a fight that would purely be based on skill and who could counteract his opponents move set. Currently, Athren had found himself leaning against the exit to the ring, his arms were crossed as he looked out at the large crowd. He had never had an audience this big around to witness his battles, he never had anybody but the few that used to be in his crew and this had made this fight all the more meaningful for he couldn't fall before all these earthlings, he was a mighty saiyan warrior, he was a true fighter and he refused to give up or give in. He was going to win this thing.
His ocean blues continued to scan the crowd as they roared and cheered, they had wanted to be entertained and see once in a lifetime fights and Athren wasn't going to disappoint. Today's attire would've been much different than his normal wear, for his armored breastplate wouldn't have been permitted at the tournament. His white boots and gloves would've remained but instead of his saiyan wear, he was wearing a black fighting Gi with an orange T-shirt underneath. Now, the thing about it was that the T shirt had his heavy weights sown in. He figured, he could've used this as a training session and get some benefits from it as well and if things started to go south, he'd simply need to remove them in the ring. It was a win win situation.
Finally he had straightened out his posture and began to walk to the ring, it was clear that his opponent hadn't made it there yet. This would give Athren a moment to scan his opponent down as he approached the stage, maybe get a feel for him. Regardless, As Athren walked down the tiled pathway to the ring the crowd continued to lose it and Athren couldn't help but absorb some of their energy, it fueled him, it motivated him further.
When Athren had reached his position in the ring he began to stretch out slightly, his eyes focusing on where he had expected his opponent to come from. He rotated his arms around and stretched out his legs, he braced himself for what was to come and he completely found himself in the zone. His breathing was careful, he inhaled slowly and exhaled even slower. He was fully ready to go. Finally, he caught a sight of his opponent and observed what he could. Firstly, he noticed the mans bulk as he was a large brute of a warrior but what caught Athren's attention was the tail wrapped around the fighters waistline. It turned out he was up against a saiyan warrior.
At this point Athren knew for a fact that the audience had absolutely no idea what they were about to witness, the first match was two strong saiyan's against each other? It wasn't just the fans reactions that were about to go crazy, it was Athren. Upon seeing that he was up against another saiyan, his heart raced rapidly as his own tail flowed behind him. If Lettuki would've been paying attention, he would've noticed that Athren's own tail would've been grey. It was a minor detail but it might've meant that there was something more to Athren than had met they eye.
Without wasting anymore time the tournament announcer had edged the fight on even further and Athren smirked devilishly. Once Lettuki was in his spot and both fighters were in their proper positioning, Athren would've taken his fighting stance. It was firm and defensive and at this point Athren had been awaiting the oncoming battle. In all honesty, it felt like this moment was frozen in time. The only thing that had mattered was his opponent in front of him and for a brief moment time was still, Athren nor his opponent made a move. It was the calm before the storm, it was the darkness before the light, it was a moment of harmony that wouldn't last long at all. In this stand still, Athren was prepared for anything, his whole body itching to move to get a start.
In his head, this was going to be one of the best moments of his life. He could fight in front of an audience, he was going to be respected and feared by so many and the whole planet was about to learn and remember his name. He was going to be something special to all of these people, he was going to show the whole planet who he really was and what he was made of. This was the moment he prepared for, it was the moment of truth to see whether all of his hard work had paid off or not. At this point he didn't know how this fight was going to go down, he couldn't know the outcome until it was over but if he was going to lose, if he was actually going to get knocked out or get ringed out, he was going to make his opponent work for it, he was going to insure that his opponent wouldn't get an easy victory. He would have to want this victory more than Athren did and that was something that wasn't likely, Athren wanted it, he needed it, he had so much to prove to himself and this was the start of it.
Word Count: 1,008 Power Level: 55,419 Power Level W/ Weights: 13,855
It seemed everyone was getting ready for the match, so Lettuki decided he'd follow everyone's lead and entered the small fighter's lobby, waiting silently for his name to be called and his match against the mystery person known as Athren to start, although with a quick scan of energy, only a single person rose above the rest, someone who was waiting near the ring and had already dwarfed Lettuki's own weighted power, so he could only assume that was Athren.
Lettuki considered greeting his future enemy to get a feel for what to expect from him and confirm this strength was not only belonging to Athren, but that this was not his full strength either. The saiyan wouldn't mind the extra work out or challenge of having to fight someone who is just a bit stronger than him while the saiyan wore his weights, but he was hoping he'd be able to cut loose and go full out against his enemy, this was supposed to be a battle of who was the strongest after all.
Although he was hoping to use his full power, he knew regardless of what would happen, he was going to do his best to avoid using his Omen state, if he showed off that kind of power in such a public place, who knows how big of a target would be painted on not only his own back, but his allies' backs, he could defend himself with ease against nearly any threat as long as he could use his Omen, but his allies weren't so lucky, they weren't born with any special transformations, hell he wasn't even sure if they could transform.
Hell Enyo herself couldn't even properly transform into her Oozaru, something was wrong with her much like the saiyan knew there was something wrong with himself, but their genetic defects were quite different, one provided Lettuki with such a strange yet powerful transformation that could rival the Oozarus themselves, while the other provided Enyo with a rather strange miniature Oozaru that was actually weaker than an regular Oozaru.
He'd have to push her to get stronger over time faster and harder, at this rate she was going to be left behind by Lettuki and would have no hope in catching up to him, hell right now she might not even be capable of catching up to him. But regardless, he figured there must be some sort of benefit to this mutation she had acquired, why would one defect make Lettuki into a force to be reckoned with, while the other was actually a downgrade compared to a regular saiyan?
Questions for a later time, the booming voice had just announced the two warrior's name and just as Lettuki predicted the strong source waiting near the entrance to the ring was indeed his enemy, it seems like Lettuki would have to make his entrance a bit behind his enemy and allow them to bask in the audience for a while. Normally Lettuki would've preferred to duel in an isolated field away from any outside interference, but there was little to be done and the tourney demanded a show from the warriors, so a show was what he was going to give them.
Rising to his feet, Lettuki dusted and straightened his weighted gi, the same old weights he was almost never seen without. He could only recall a single time that he actually removed the weights, it was against the hybrid surprisingly, he thought the kid had potential, but he just disappeared one day. Second time's the charm however and Lettuki begun to make his way to the ring, his saiyan tail wrapped proudly around his waist as he finally arrived at the entrance to the ring, taking a moment to breathe and prepare himself for the challenge awaiting him.
Lettuki stepped out into the light, his black weighted gi set hanging loosely around the saiyan's bulky body as he walked toward the ring, a small smirk on his face as his silver eyes scanned the crowd, wondering if Enyo or Jaci were watching him or if they were already waiting in the lobby for their matches, or perhaps doing something else.
As he climbed the steps to the ring, his eyes finally landed on his enemy known as Athren, immediately being drawn to the saiyan's oddly coloured tail that was flowing freely. An amateur mistake to leave one's tail open like that, but Lettuki decided he'd show the saiyan by example rather than informing him. The next thing to catch the saiyan's eye was the strange bright blue eyes, a rather rare genre for a saiyan.
Seeing the blue eyes made Lettuki remember one of the first note worthy people he met on earth, Annie? Or was it Alice? Either way, he recalled her strange behavior and her single blue eye. He still preferred the colour green frankly. As Lettuki approached the center of the ring, he realized the saiyan's tail had gray fur instead of the usual brown fur, a strange development as he wasn't even aware the tails could be a different colour. His mind went to the obvious question on rather or not the saiyan would be a gray Oozaru or change into a regular brown Oozaru upon transforming.
Besides that question, he didn't really care too much about the odd colour, maybe he just dyed it to stand out a bit more, like the people with the oddly bright coloured hair or the ones who had metal sticking into their face for fun. Lettuki only gave the saiyan a nod before entering his fighting stance, his legs planted firmly into the ring and a fair distance away from the other in order to maintain a good balance. He shifted his body so that it would somewhat horizontal toward his enemy, his left shoulder facing toward his enemy. He tucked his right arm between his abdomen and chest as he slightly slouched to lower the space his enemy would have to strike at him. He brought his left arm up in front of him and bent at an 90 degree angle upward.
This was mainly a defensive form as his left arm was intended to parry or block the attacks and his right arm was intended as a secondary defense should he needed, however it also served to give him a readying position to unleash a quick attack at a moment notice.
Lettuki could only breathe deeply as he watched his enemy, keeping an eye on every movement the saiyan was making in anticipation for any attempted attacks he could try, deciding he should allow his enemy the first strike so he could know what he was going to be dealing with here.
Given that both fighters had been in their fighting positions, the crowd had really been revved up now. They had awaited this tournament just like the fighters did and their excitement that the first match was now underway was obvious. They had roared louder than anything Athren had ever heard before, they outdid any army that Athren had even went up against, they were louder than any former war cry by an opponent he had ever faced and the best part about their noise level? It was fueling Athren's already positive and motivated attitude, it was giving him more energy and excitement and just helping him focus all that much more. You see, he was a very talented fighter and was capable of focusing well without the motivation but with this? He couldn't let them down, he couldn't let himself down. He needed to show every single one of the spectators what a saiyan could do and given that he had been matched up against one, this crowd was going to be completely blown away. A saiyan versus saiyan match in the first round? It was unlikely, but it was happening and given that they had been so close in power level.. It was going to make for a good fight.
While they were both in their fighting stances, it had seemed like a thousand different things were rushing through Athren's mind. He was trying to observe the warriors fighting stance to get a hone on his fighting style but it just wasn't something that was coming to him easily. Plus, Athren was well aware that Lettuki had experience fighting, probably just as much as Athren did or if not more. This would've meant that both warriors would probably have lots of tricks up their sleeves for evasion techniques, offensive techniques and so much more. Both would know how to react and counter attack the more advanced moves, surely this was going to be on the top list for the best fights at this tournament. As Athren observed the situation, he was trying to think up the best move for a first attack. It would've appeared like the opponent was giving him that grace to make the first move. Firstly, Athren knew he'd need to close the gap between them and throw a punch but maybe it was a trap? This had brought Athren to the conclusion that he wasn't going to go very hard to start with, he was going to come in with a very basic, light attack and try to get a feel for his opponent. This would've also worked for a counter measure, because Athren found that simple attacks were countered with simple attacks, meaning that he'd have no problem getting out of a situation if Lettuki pressed a counter attack immediately.
Athren would've taken a deep breath, his focus was on Lettuki and Lettuki alone at this point. Given that Athren was a man of few words, there was nothing he had to say at this point. Of course, it was always likely that he'd slur a thing here or there during the fight to make it more entertaining but for now, he needed to feel the situation out. After all, he didn't want to talk a load of crap if he was going to get badly beat up. How would that look? He needed to insure that he could gain some kind of an upper hand before talking crap. Regardless of all that though, it was time to make his move and try some kind of advance against the opposition. Though, he was going to stick to the simplest of moves right now and get a feel for his opponent. Surely, if this was like any saiyan versus saiyan spar he had with his former comrades, they'd start small and gradually work their way up to their maximum potential. It was a way to keep the fight interesting and fun, though.. this was different circumstances, there had actually been a prize to be won. Athren didn't know if that make them both try hard shortly after the start, but it was a thought in the back of his mind.. after all, he wanted to be the winner of that large prize money.
At this point Athren had been determined to make his move and start this fight off the right way, he launched himself forward towards Lettuki and cocked his right hand back, as he neared Lettuki his right fist would've launched towards his face. It was the most obvious, easiest attack Athren could've tossed out towards the opponent and Athren was well aware of this but again, at this point he just wanted to test the waters of how his opponent acts and reacts to certain moves, plus it might've been a chance for him to discover anything Lettuki could've been hiding. Given that Athren had attempted to deliver a very basic attack, he was focused on Lettuki's next movement. He needed to be prepared for whatever counter had been ready to come his way and the more attentive he was to Lettuki's body language, the easier it would be for him to react.
Whatever was going to come his way, he needed to be prepared because Athren already knew that this guy wasn't a push over. It wasn't just their nearly equal power level either, it was something else. It was a vibe, or some kind of internal presences about the fighter that Athren couldn't explain. There had just been something there that indicated to Athren that this guy wasn't a chump, he wasn't going to be easy and he surely wasn't going to be a push over. Of course, Athren could've just been losing his mind in the excitement for the fight but he needed to be quick on his feet, faster with his hands and completely focused with his mind. He needed to be prepared for everything, at this point Athren awaited the counter from his opponent for surely, that fist wasn't going to land.
