Underground Gambling Ring

Kondai was on a somewhat interesting trail today, it had been a little bit since he had arrived on Earth, about 2 weeks all told from when he stopped that kidnapping and murdering cyborg group from having their way. Kondai was actually pretty excited that he had a new trail to follow for some sort of action as this planet was definitely sorely lacking in action of any kind. It kind made him miss home a little bit, though he wasn't going to say Earth was a bad planet as it was a pretty nice planet that was pretty reminiscent of his home planet... er... well... at least half of it.

Kondai heard that there were people disappearing at a local casino, the entire thing was supposedly incredibly shady and it was said that people who beat the house a little too much never left this casino or were seen again for that matter, not only that but most of the staff of the casino were different types of monster-type humans. All of them seem slightly outside of reality and not really thinking about anything other than the casino owner and the casino in and of itself. It was definitely a strange case for Kondai to be certain, he'd never heard of anything like this happening back on Planet Sadala.

This kind of mission was something a little different for Kondai, he couldn't go in guns blazing until he could prove that something funny was going on definitively. If he did then he'd definitely get himself in a lot of trouble which was definitely the last thing he wanted to do. So? what was his idea to keep himself out of trouble? Well, he brought in something to disguise himself so that his face couldn't be picked up on the cameras.

It was a small white and black mask that would cover up at the very least the facial features that could be noted for half his face making him almost unidentifiable, on top of this he was hiding his most identifiable feature, his tail, underneath his pants wrapped around his leg. He wouldn't need it for this mission as it would only serve to get him spotted out as the odd one out, the last thing he wanted for taking on a mission such as this one. On top of this he brought with him a change of clothes so that his outfit wouldn't get spotted while he was doing recon, an all black outfit that could blend in with the shadows so long as he were careful, and finally he brought as much zeni as he could gather together as he knew he would have to gamble to get his recon done. With all of that Kondai was right in front of the casino door, ready to head on in and face what this casino held within it.

Inside the casino it was much louder, lots of talking, laughing, angry yelling from people losing money, slot machines, all sorts of stuff that all slurred together into a unified mass of indistinguishable sounds and noises. There had to be hundreds of people in here. Over everyone there seemed to be a band playing some music up on a stage with massive loud amplifiers that made them much louder than damn near anything else in this casino. Kondai kept the mask in a pocket in the jacket under his armor and the change of clothes in a bag on his back. Security was pretty tight but he showed them the bag and they didn't see anything out of place so they allowed him through.

Kondai gave himself some pep talk in his head to comfort himself before he swallowed his fear and stepped up to the trade in desk to get some casino chips. There was some sort of imp girl behind the counter with tufts of frizzy fur on her body, sharp fangs protruding from her top row of teeth, and blood red eyes that stared into the cold depths of your soul, she was pretty pale from what her skin showed as well. She gave Kondai the creeps but still she smiled with a seemingly kind smile and spoke to Kondai in a comforting voice.

Kondai looked at her for a moment, something really wasn't right about her appearance but it would be really rude to ask about it. He sighed internally and then responded slowly, his voice sounding somewhat exasperated from the shock of her almost ghoulish look.

Kondai said before sliding a big stack of zeni across the counter somewhat slowly and awkwardly, as if approaching a dog with rabies and a bad track record of biting strangers. The girl behind the desk giggled a bit at Kondai's alien approach before taking the zeni quickly and handing back a sizeable stack of casino chips in a rainbow of colors, all numbered with different monetary values. This was easily enough to last him an entire day of gambling so long as he didn't bet it all at once and made sure to move to different games every now and then so that he could try to catch SOMETHING suspicious, if anything at all.

Kondai decided the best first thing to try was roulette, from what he heard during his stay on Earth this was one of the games that casinos could most easily manipulate in their favor. He heard all sorts of stories about magnets, glass lids, and all sorts of other stuff, if this casino was illegitimate then he'd be able to spot it here possibly. All he had to do was wait for just the right moment. Kondai reassured himself before walking up to the table with his chips and sitting at one of the seats in front of it.

This time it was a man that was at this table, he looked entirely different from the weird girl that was at the chip trade-in. He had sickly green skin with bulged veins up and down his arms and neck, the veins themselves appeared to be glowing in a lighter green color, he looked like a radioactive mutant, but without the cancerous tumors and other stuff that would be commonly associated with them. He had a thick blonde beard but was completely bald otherwise, not a single other hair on him besides the beard.

The voice that came out of the man was a somewhat posh sounding accent, Kondai internally laughed a bit because of that, the voice definitely didn't seem to belong to the face, either way Kondai nodded to him silently to confirm that he he was indeed playing before handing him on of the chips with a smaller monetary worth and speaking.

Kondai said before the man nodded back silently and placed the chip down on a board before he spun the roulette quickly and then tossed the ball in. It was now or never, Kondai had to watch this roulette carefully for any odd reactions. But, oh boy did it show him what he wanted to see. Not only did the ball seem to hover in air above a black space for a split second, the ball sunk like a brick IMMEDIATELY into a red pocket from what it seemed. That was interesting, but Kondai had to make sure his eyes weren't decieving him. Kondai waited for the man to take the chip and put it behind the desk before he put down another chip of the same value, this time on red.

Kondai watched the roulette carefully and the same result happened, the ball slid right off of something that was now covering the red pocket and magnetized into the black. Kondai stared at it in disbelief but didn't say anything and kept a poker face before smiling at the man, nodding, and walking away from the roulette table. That definitely raised Kondai's suspicions pretty high. In fact he was now wondering what other unusual results he could get out of the other games to add on to his suspicions. Well, there was only one way to find out.

Kondai soon walked up to one of the slot machines, it was pretty bright and flashy and made a lot of noise, the machine had big numbers at the very top of it that told what the jackpot would be if you could win it, the prize seemed to be up in the hundreds of thousands of zeni so it was definitely in Kondai's interest to win it, if this wasn't rigged as well. Kondai quickly sat down at the seat in front of the machine and inserted a chip before pulling down on the lever to make the machine spin.

While that happed a rather young looking girl came up to Kondai with a tray and spoke to him, it seemed like she was one of the waitresses/bartenders that worked here at the casino, she wasn't too unusual looking but she had devil horns, a devil tail, massively exaggerated breasts, and wasn't dressed all too great either, whatever she was wearing left little to the imagination. Kondai of course was completely oblivious as she gave him a big ol' smile and wink before speaking.

Kondai blinked slowly at what she was saying before he spoke.

She nodded before handing him a tiny little menu, nice thing that was pretty much just a leather book that contained a list. All of these drinks seemed mostly unfamiliar to him, and he was completely unaware that they were in fact all alcoholic beverages. Kondai saw one on the list in particular, scotch, and immediately he assume it was a butterscotch flavored drink and spoke up.

Kondai spoke in a somewhat excited voice. The waitress giggled a bit in as seductive a tone as she could muster, it seemed like she was trying to seduce Kondai but Kondai was a little too oblivious for such a thing. She soon walked off to get Kondai the drink he asked for and the Kondai turned back to the slot machine. When he looked he realized that the slot wheels didn't line up at all. Kondai sighed before inserting another chip into the machine and sighing.

Kondai waited for a bit while the slots stopped again, yet again no win whatsoever. Kondai gave it a third try, repeating his steps from before to spin again. After a bit of waiting he won something finally, though it was the smallest reward that the machine could pump out, which means he literally just won back the chip he just put into the machine.

Kondai sighed and waited for a bit until the waitress came back with his drink. She came up to him and leaned over him with her breasts mildly in his face and handed him his drinks before giggling up a storm.

Kondai nodded, she was being really nice for no reason that was immediately apparent to Kondai. Either way Kondai picked up the unusual bottle and sniffed at it. It sure as hell didn't smell like butterscotch. Eh Kondai was thirsty either way so here it went, bottoms up. Kondai immediately began to chug it, to his surprise he didn't mind it very much but he soon noticed that as he chugged down the whole bottle his head began to feel a little fuzzy and his vision blurred some.

Man this was trippy, this drink was affecting his cognitive functions a bit. Kondai cursed mildly under his breath, he enjoyed the drink but this was most certainly an unexpected side effect of drinking it, that was for certain to him. He was just thirsty and wanted something good to drink he didn't think it would cause THIS. 

Kondai soon stood up, it was a little harder to walk but he did it still, maybe a tiny bit wobbly but otherwise he was just fine. Kondai quickly decided that this was no good for his mission and so he decided to stay at this casino's hotel for the night to get himself back up to full capacity. Kondai wandered off to go find the hotel receptionist.

Soon enough Kondai approached a desk that was way too tall for the comically short man that was standing behind it, Kondai held in a laugh when he saw it an the spoke to the man.

The man simply nodded and move toward a rack behind him, grabbed a numbered room key, and tossed it right on over to Kondai. Kondai caught it quickly but drunkenly stumbled in doing so, just barely managing to catch himself in his drunken stupor. He looked at the room number on the keys before he moved on, making his way to the elevator since he really didn't trust himself with stairs right now.

As soon as the elevator made it to the right floor and the doors opened up Kondai walked all the way down the hall, staring at each door as he did so, looking for the room number on the keys. Soon enough he found the right room and unlocked it. He soon realized though that he was being followed though as as soon as he opened the door and laid down on the bed with a plop he saw the same devil/demon girl from earlier that gave him the drink walk right in, this time in a maid outfit.

Kondai was immediately creeped out and uncomfortable and so he stood up and looked her in the eyes before speaking.

She simply giggled, nodded her head, and walked away after which Kondai quickly closed his door and locked it. What in the hell that was about he had absolutely no idea but he really REALLY didn't want to know, this was beginning to become one of the most uncomfortable situations he had ever been in. It was whatever though, for now he wanted to take a nap to get whatever was in his system currently out. Soon enough, he drifted off into a light sleep.

A few hours later Kondai woke up now clear of the alcohol that was in his system and took a look around his room in a mild cold sweat. Something didn't feel quite right, it felt like he was being watched by someone or something but he didn't know who or what, there were no visible security cameras in the room either so that ruled that out. Kondai had good reason from all that happened earlier that there was something not right going on within this casino and so that had his mind set, it was time to go stealth mode and find out just what schemes were going on behind the scenes.

Kondai quickly moved to the bathroom and undressed from his armor and such, leaving it in a small pile in the corner of the room before he dressed himself in the stealth gear, putting up the hood on the jacket before topping it off by adorning his face with the mask. Now that he was dressed like this he definitely couldn't just walk out into the hall. He had to find a way around that. Luckily, inside his room he saw just the ticket, a grate that led right into a vent shaft. Definitely big enough for him to squeeze into, perfect.

Kondai carefully pulled the grate off of the shaft entrance and set it down on his bed, he would have to move slowly in these vents if he wanted to avoid being heard but it was either this or nothing, and Kondai would rather do this than give up because it was very clear to him that something not so great was going on in this casino. As Kondai crawled his way through the vent he could definitely hear people talking in the other rooms that this vent shaft was connected to, he didn't listen in however as he didn't want to intrude on their conversations without their knowledge, that is not what he was here for after all.

The heat inside the vent was sweltering, he could tell that they had the furnace on he could feel the heat emenating all throughout this vent, which meant he didn't wanna go too far down the shaft lest he fall into the furnace itself and be burned to death, Kondai shuddered at the very thought of that. That was no way for a Saiyan such as himself to die. He wanted to die an honorable death in battle protecting his family and friends like his ancestors before him. That was the only way to go out for him. At least until the Empire of Vegeta was gone.

Kondai looked around the vent through each grate he saw to make sure he didn't skip over anything, most of the grates he looked through just led into other hotel rooms. He simply moved on every time he saw a hotel room, empty or occupied. He had zero interest in them whatsoever. However, soon enough he heard something that piqued his interest as he passed by one of the hotels, he quickly and quietly crawled toward that room's grate and listened in after hearing it.

Kondai raised an eyebrow at how he used the term inducting. Now he one hundred percent knew that something incredibly fishy was going on. Kondai now knew he had to follow these vents to the meeting room to see what this was all about. So, he did just that, making his way further down the vents, he didn't exactly KNOW where this meeting room was but he was sure he could at least find it fast enough, in fact if he just used his ability to sense ki to pick of sets of people close to ventilation shaft entrances he could probably easily tear through this entire vent shaft and get there just in the nick of time.

Kondai did just that, continuing his way down the narrow ventilation shaft, it was really hot and cramped in here so he definitely wanted to hurry, this was possibly one of the most uncomfortable places he ever found himself in. He checked room after room through the grates before he heard a loud scream of agony through one of the grates. Kondai immediately crawled his way over to take a look.There, Kondai saw something somewhat horrifying, a woman screaming in agony as her body seemed to be attempting to contort into a new form. Kondai's eyes widened and he decided to leap directly into action, refusing to let them do anything more to her. He kicked open the vent cover and landed feet first onto the meeting table before rushing forward and giving the guy holding the woman a firm right hook to the cheek that sent him flying toward the wall and sent all sorts of papers and such flying into the air.

Everyone in the room looked dumbfounded by this entire situation, but it didn't take long before they began to try to surround Kondai and the woman. Kondai immediately turned to the girl he just saved before speaking in a grizzly voice that was obviously not his natural voice.

Kondai said before lifting one of the mutated thugs up by the arms and throwing him like a bowling ball, knocking the other thugs in her way over like pins, giving her ample time to make a beeline to the exit which she promptly did. There was something pretty familiar about her, she looked a lot like the weird devil lady from earlier. Kondai didn't have time to think about it though before he heard the man he just sent flying across the room with a punch speak up.

And just like that he quickly left the room, Kondai attempted to stop him in his tracks with a ki blast to the back but one of his thugs got in the way and smacked it away from him. The boss of these guys speaking one last time from behind the closed door.

Kondai let out and angry gasp and grit his teeth while getting into a fighting stance. This was it, it was time to kick some ass. Kondai had about ten guys all around him ready to tear right into him. They were all decently strong but Kondai definitely still held a power advantage, though he knew that this fight would be pretty hard. He was ready for it either way though. In fact, he was excited, he had a somewhat sadistic grin on his face. Not because he had ill intent or anything, but purely because he relished in the thrill of the idea of this fight.

Kondai immediately felt a guy running up behind him using his ki sense, Kondai used this to his advantage quickly ducking under the incoming high kick that was aimed for the back of his head, planting his heel, and pivoting immediately before deliving an incredibly hard and gutwrenching punching to the guy that wass attempting the assaulting. The guy's eyes went blank as he immediately passed out from the blow and Kondai tossed him across the room into a corner. He was going for deliberately non-lethal blows because there was absolutely no telling if these guys were subjected to the same exact technique that guy used or not therefor taking their lives would be wrong.

Kondai rushed forwward to the one directly in front of him and aimed a feint punch for his face that missed intentionally as with his other hand he aimed an energy wave for another one of the guys and blasted him backward and then in another swift motion Kondai wrapped the guy he feinted a moment ago in his arm and threw him overheard into the guy he just blasted, this immediately decimated a shelf nearby and caused it to collapse while also knocking them out cold. Seven were left now but Kondai was immediately attacked by a guy wielding a knife.

Kondai made rapid evasive maneuvers that were rather complex to dodge the rapid slashing and thrusting from the knife before he managed to get ahold of the guy's wrist and break his arm like a twig, making him drop the knife, Kondai immediately catching it from the air and tossing it across the room to where no-one was near so that it was out of the fight hopefully for good, the knife stuck into the wall with ease from the force of Kondai's throw. The guy who had his arm broken stayed down, leaving it to 6 more guys. 

Kondai soon saw a guy running toward him but Kondai managed to graple one of the guy's allies in the nick of time and use him as a meatshield to take the attack for him. The guy unfortunate enough to be grappled was immediately subjected to a savage jaw punch that broke his jaw and knocked him out, Kondai using this opening before the meatshield collapsed slid under his legs and jumped up to deliver a hard uppercut to the guy who previous attacked and sent him flying so hard into the meeting table that it cracked clean in half.

Kondai was running out of stamina at this point. He was pretty winded from this though he had yet to be hit with an actual attack. Soon enough one of the 4 remaining thugs attempted to take advantage of Kondai's current winded state by attempting to further knock the wind out of him with a hard gut punch, Kondai immediately jumped up and landed on his head with almost perfect balance and before the guy could even react to that Kondai jumped up, did a midair flip, and sent his foot crashing into the guy's face, sending him flying toward the other three goons. Now they were knocked out. Kondai now was able to chase after the boss that ran way, he just hoped he'd be able to get to him fast.

Kondai quickly rushed out the door at a breakneck pace, looking around to make sure no guards were en route to get his way, seeing none he quickly made a beeline down the long cooridor that lay before him to see if he could figure out what was on the other end of this massive corridor. On the way he realized there was all sorts of ornate arts of women in particular, paintings and statues depicting them, they weren't just randomly drawn either they were pretty finely crafted. Kondai had no time to admire art though, he kept the rush on and continued to speed down the hall at an alarming rate until he came up to a MASSIVE door, this door was a little closer to a medieval gate made to stop cannon fire than an actual door. It seemed to have normal door structure in that it swung forward and back like most ordinary doors leading into rooms.

Kondai grit his teeth, that thing looked heavy but the only way forward was to push it open. Kondai rushed forward baring his teeth while pushing on the gate with all of his might, making the door swing wide open after a few moments of pushing. Kondai then continued into the room that was now open to him now that the door was open. It appeared to be a dead end, an office of some sort, this was likely where the business work of the casino was done. Kondai didn't see anyone in sight, but little did he know they were right behind him...

Kondai soon felt a sharp stabbing pain in his shoulder as a knife plunged deep into him, drenching his coat in blood and making him buckle over in pain. This hurt like hell. Kondai soon turned around and sure enough, it was the guy that ran away previously. But he wasn't alone because he wasn't the person that stabbed him, in fact it was the demon lady from before that was right in front of him, hand soaked in blood from stabbing.

Kondai grit his teeth and yanked the knife out of his arm and tossed his away, preparing to face them both head on.

Kondai said before he rushed her, giving her a hard punch but missing her and stumbling over, however, he wasn't expecting her to stay still as he used this to spin around in a fluid tornado-like motion and slam the back of his knuckles directly into her face with a solid cracking sound from his knuckles.

Kondai gritted his teeth at those words. It looked like he was left with quite a predicament, although... he had a plan, the man seemed to be just a normal human with a normal human power minus his unusual magic he had. So if Kondai took him out, would that mean his magic would wear off of them? He decided that he was going to test this theory, but first he would have to trick her into it.

Kondai gave a look at her before he began charging up a move that he knew for certain would work. He immediately rushed the demon woman while charging up an attack in his right hand, making it as obvious and easy to dodge as possible, she immediately took the bait, giving Kondai the perfect opportunity, he launched the attack directly at the boss after her dodge and poured all of his energy into it, vaporizing the man instantly!

This had a surprising reaction, the succubus woman immediately began screaming in immense pain as her succubus features seemed to be disappearing slowly before Kondai's eyes, on the other side of the casino Kondai could hear a lot of screaming as well, Kondai's theory seemed to hold true. Kondai laughed, just glad that this was all over as his arm bled, he slowly made his way back to the lobby and by the time he got there he heard ambulances beginning to roll up to the casino as well as police.

Kondai was patched up then and there by the paramedics and given a stern lecture by the police about how stupid and reckless what he did was before they gave Kondai their thanks, Kondai smiled at them, took it and then flew away to fight another day.
