You know, there wasn't very many things that excited a saiyan warrior on the planet Earth. It was quite a boring planet with little to do, there wasn't many strong fighters to duke it out with, there wasn't missions to be assigned on and there surely wasn't a lot of things that he found entertaining but once in a blue moon something would come along that caught his interest and there was an event coming up quickly that excited him beyond belief. Here it was though and it felt like a once in a lifetime event, even though it wasn't Athren was doing his best to prepare for it. This event was the Worlds Martial Arts Tournament and it was a perfect way for Athren to let loose and fight some people without being deemed a criminal, it was a place for him to vent his anger and emotions into a target without being hated for it and the best part, he never knew who could've been there! This tournament was advertised to the universe and he knew there were some really strong fighters out there and he wanted to fight them all! It was saiyan nature and something that he couldn't avoid. Even if he wanted too, he couldn't say no to the fight of the century.
At this moment in time Athren had found himself on a beautiful beach, it was quite the long one and surprisingly quite empty. It was a location that he couldn't pass up for training. The sound of the waves crashing against the nearby rocks at the edge of the beach was calming to him, it reminded him so much of his inter conflict and brought some sort of ease to it. He couldn't explain how it brought him a feeling of ease but it did. Currently, he was wearing his heavy training gear and was shadowboxing on the ever so empty beach. His training was as per usual, intense and unforgiving. He didn't miss a single beat with his rapid pacing and his strategic deliveries. Sure, it might've been true that he wasn't fighting an opponent that could counter or an opponent at all for that fact, but his moves were still impressive and fluid all the same.
His motivation for this shadowboxing session was quite a simple one, he didn't need to dig too deep to find the will to dig deep and continuing. He visualized an opponent in the world tournament ring and Athren wasn't one for a ring out, he wanted to win with a knockout to give him the best possible fights that this tournament would provide him with. Of course, if he found himself out matched he would pick the smarter route instead of the brawler route but that wasn't motivational enough to help him train. He needed that raw, brutal encounter in the back of his mind to push him further. It would've been roughly four hours into his training session where he spotted random debris floating into the shoreline. The waves and current had started to bring lots of random crates and objects onto the sandy shore and as the minutes passed, more and more items began rolling up.
He couldn't help but arch his right eyebrow as he got curious, he couldn't help but wonder why all this random stuff was showing up out of the blue. There had to be a cause behind all of it and a reasonable one and Athren was curious enough to investigate. This would've been a shear sign that his demonic side was taking over as it was a very curious creature. Slowly he would've walked towards a box that drifted onto the beach and examined it. His ocean blue eyes looking for any sign of what the origin could've been. Luckily for him, it was placed right in front of his eyes. 'SS Caroline'. At this point Athren knew enough that this debris had come from a ship that was somewhere on the ocean but what he didn't know at this point in time was what had caused this stuff to hit the waters and drift.
Briefly, his ocean blue eyes scanned the beautiful blue of the ocean as he looked for any obvious sign of it's location but there was nothing. It was clear that he was going to need to do some further digging to identify the cause of this treasure on the shoreline. It was apparent at this point in time that something didn't seem right, sure.. maybe it was possible that one or two crates could've fallen off but this? This was a little bit much, it was a little bit excessive.
His eyes turned back to glance at the beach as the conflicting choices between his saiyan side and his demon side took over. His saiyan side was urging him to continuing training as that was the priority, he needed to be as strong as possible in order to win the tournament and get that money. If he did that, he could buy a ship and all the training upgrades he wanted.. but.. his demon side wanted to know what was going on in the waters, clearly there was something fishy about it and it just needed to know what was going on. At this point he crossed his arms slightly and his right foot began to tap. His right arm finally came up to rub his chin as he looked back and fourth between the ocean and the beach. The conflicted continued for mere minutes before he finally gazed towards the ocean with a decision in his head.
He could train afterwards, he could train at any time that he wanted too but this? This could've been something special or it could've been nothing at all and he wasn't going to know unless he went to investigate. His demon side won this conflict, he was going to go adventure out into the ocean and see what kind of conclusion he could come up with!
