“I’m headed to the forest!” the monkey called as she tucked a packet of homemade fish jerky in her pocket, compliments of the big monster that caught her tail earlier. As she walked out of the door she heard Kohlrab speaking with Mai about how worrisome it is that she has an imaginary friend at such an age. However, Mai merely assuaged him with a few simple chipper words of how it was perfectly fine, and she needed friends. Even imaginary ones.
The Saiyan girl couldn’t understand why they didn’t believe her. It’s not like she can just make up ki. With a sigh she continued going onward. It was a long trip of flight but she was there soon enough. As Valla passed by tree upon tree, there were signs that she simply missed along the way. It never really occurred to her that the odd shapes on the trees could even have words on them. Now where was she?
“Come out, come out, where ever you are!” the teen called out. “I brought some food for you… I caught it myself.” Valla thought about it for a moment. “I promise it was a meanie fish that tried to kill me!” Valla continued to use her ki senses to search her out, as she often forgot the exact location of her friend’s exact home.
Jaci was having a strange day, she’d noticed something was wrong in the forest. But she couldn’t make out quite what it was. The animals were keeping back and out of the way. But she couldn’t figure out just what had caused it. Maybe there was someone creeping through the forest that she hadn’t detected yet. That had to be the cause, but it was strange that she hadn’t picked up any unusual energy at the edge of the forest. She normally picked up on strangers entering the area, which had to mean it was either a machine again or someone she knew. She could only hope for the latter.
She drifted just off the ground, leaving not a sound, no crunch of leaves and twigs. The demon was careful to not brush past any of the branches either. The demon keeping to the art of stealth in so far as she could. Wanting to get the drop on the damn machine and straining her ears trying to figure out just where it had come from. Surely by now she’d hear the distinctive clink and bang noises as it impacted the floor with it’s metal feet. She slowly grinned as she heard a familiar voice. She was never entirely sure what they said, but it was someone she considered a friend. They couldn’t seem to see her properly. So she didn’t mind the strange human since they seemed to have no idea about the apparent hatred that should exist between the races.
The demon moved in a blur, appearing behind Valla with a happy little laugh, though it was likely that the strange girl would have noticed her blurring movement as she shot through the air and spun around the girl, the demon watching the strange girl expectantly. Unsure of what brought her to the forest this time but fairly sure that it would be another interesting experience, on the plus side Jaci even knew some more words and might have a chance at understanding her a little better for a change.
Valla did see the flick of her energy and spun around at her laugh and statement, Jaci was one of the few who could bring her to smile. “There you are!” She pulled out one of the pieces of fish jerky, then held it out towards her face. “This is food. A present.” The little monkey girl sincerely hoped that she would enjoy it. “I met two new people, one was another like me but no tail. And the other was weird and looked like candy.” Valla wasn't sure how well she could respond to that, but she felt It important for her to know.
“I don’t think they're harmful to trees and stuff, but I thought you should know. They seemed friendly.” She smiled a bit as she spent time with her ‘imaginary' friend and listened to the nature as well, as warm light filtered through the trees. “I don't suppose you've met anyone new lately? Besides the lumber meanies, I mean.”
Valla's tail swished back and forth, gently sweeping against the forest floor as she listened and observed any of the demon girls responses. It had been over a week since her last visit, but to Valla it felt like an eternity as she was her only friend. The little simian-type girl knew Jaci wasn't in her imagination, and treasured their time together.
Jaci’s focus was almost entirely on that piece of jerky the moment Valla produced it, the demon curious about the strange ways humans prepared their food when there was so much ready to eat food available to someone ready to just look for it. Jaci beamed out a smile before remembering that Valla didn’t seem to notice such things and instead settled for mumbling in demonic since she didn’t know the right way to say thanks in the common tongue. She swore she’d have to put more effort into learning these things.
“Vinxa”
As the words washed over her, Jaci slowly nibbled on the Jerky, made a bit of a face with her tongue out. It was weird and strange and didn’t seem right. There was something odd about it, and Jaci decided that it was because it made her thirsty almost instantly, something had been done to this to make Jaci dry out when eaten. Other than that it tasted good, but it was making her desperate to run off to the lake for a drink to feel better. The demon shifting back and forth in place and acting agitated for a little before calming down and just dealing with it.
“svabol ui candy, please?”
She probably needed to use less of her own language, but the concept of candy wasn’t a word or even a concept she really knew about and having someone look like candy was a really strange little concept. She couldn’t really picture it without first knowing what candy was. Though maybe Valla was talking about different foods that she had encountered instead of people. It was hard for her to tell. She had been asked what was new with her and she tried her best to explain in turn.
“Big human come! Like you, floof tail, but big. More cling bang try take forest. Jaci protect! Want piece?”
She had been given a gift after all, it was only polite to offer a gift in exchange, and the busted metal of the power suit was about all she could really offer in this case to the strange girl that was blind to their differences, the demon staying close in case Valla needed any help moving. Though despite being clearly unable to see things like facial expressions and even little actions Jaci sometimes tried to use to explain herself. The girl navigated rather well when it came to not bumping into trees. It was a strange relationship.
