Tsuki lay flat in the long grass, faint wisps of wind causing the flowers and stalks around her to wave softly, though she was downwind so her prey wouldn’t stand a chance at detecting her before she was ready to strike. She had stalked this victim for what felt like an age, always finding them frustratingly just and just out of reach. So a terrible game of cat and mouse had begun. Tsuki carefully shifting position little by little to try and bring herself into striking distance of her prey. But every time she felt confident enough to try and strike the darn thing would just casually move out of range once more. Her ki imbued abilities were not to be thought of despite how much easier they would make this grand undertaking. They would leave her without a victim after the first blow and that would ruin this entire day of effort.
Once more she eyed her target, so carefree. So happy, so soon to be hers. She could practically taste them already, their scent had been filling her nostrils for hours now. She was starting to wonder if her salivating was alerting the other to her presence. But none the less she started to inch forwards each time the wind blew to her. Masking the sounds she made with her movements and getting back to the point where she assumed she’d be able to make a good sized pounce and land upon her victim. Just had to get the point of balance without making the target flee. She’d have to wait once more for the wind to blow and give her the noise cover. So she settled and waited, watching the graceful movements of the other with some care. She was however in a risky spot if her quarry turned back to face her suddenly she’d be exposed and forced into a more desperate chase instead of being able to end things in a single pounce.
Smirking slightly, she started to wiggle her rump slightly. This was admittedly a cat thing to do, but she’d seen it done once. Admittedly via the memories of her maker that she seemed to be able to recall without knowing quite why. It was kind of weird, having memories of a time before you’d even been born… Born. Whatever. She had more important things to worry about, like making sure that this didn’t go wrong. With a sudden tensing of the muscles, Tsuki leapt forwards. The butterfly she’d been chasing this whole time chose this exact moment to flutter off and the wolf was left face planting the ground and leaving a tiny furrow in which she slumped. Dangit, well today just couldn’t get any worse! Wait, why was the ground rumbling? Tsuki yelped loudly as the furrow she had made collapsed along with quite a bit of the ground around her and she fell in what felt like slow motion, seeing the ground rising up to meet her with it’s jagged edges, broken moss covered stones and strange patterns on the wall. She managed to recollect the word temple before everything went black.
