Character Name:
Huela
Gender:
Female
Starting Planet:
Frost #97
Race:
Geck
Racial Traits:
Alert!: While the concept of Ki is new to the Geck, it’s existence is not. These small, prey-like individuals have a better time gauging the strength of someone’s Ki in relation to others nearby. (Can sense suppressed Individuals and can also sense the Max strength of somebody suppressed.)
Note: You will still need Ki Sense to do this.
Small But Mighty: Due to their history with getting knocked over, smashed, tossed, and blown up by their own inventions, the Geck are a hardy lot for their size. They can take a bit more of a beating than expected. (15% damage reduction on all basic attacks. Both Ki & Stamina based.)
Techno-logic: If there’s anything the Geck like, it’s technology. Place something mechanical near a nest, and it’ll be swarmed in minutes. Geck love to pull apart things and put them back together, learning everything they can about something. This gives them a kick-start when it comes to repairing foreign machines, and helps them get along with races like Humans, Tuffles, or Androids. (They can repair androids for half the price, they also get a 25% discount on all their own created items)
Transformation Path:
Nano Line
Age:
25
Fighting Style:
Distance/Defensive Mix
History:
Huela’s rearing isn’t anything remarkable for the Geck. Raised communally, her interest in machines was encouraged and fueled by her elders and colleagues alike. Though, as she aged, her thirst for something new kept those orange eyes to the stars....
Like many Geck, Huela’s isolation on her home planet has led her to be a bit behind on galactic history. But there’s word of other races among the stars, who undoubtedly have technology she’s never seen. And honestly? What inventor and mechanic needs more a reason? With little heading and even less warning, Huela packed up her essentials into a personal craft and left her home behind. On her way to a planet simply referred to as ‘Plant’ in galactic reports, her ship is struck by space debris, and she’s forced to make an emergency landing on the nearest planet... Frost #97.
Personality:
See: Goblin. Prone to being loud, climbing all over compatriots, putting things she shouldn’t in her mouth, speaking without thinking, and the occasional theft of small, useless things (paper clips, pens, a forgotten Zeni, a single chip off your plate...), for something only a foot tall, Huela can be quite the handful. If one can handle that, however, the little creature is impressively intelligent. With a small frame, a knack for electronics, and acidic saliva that can burn through both metal and flesh, she’s an impressive mechanic, repairwoman, and inventor, and great to have on hand for any mechanical emergencies. Affection and loyalty wrapped in a blanket of sass and silliness, if you’re looking for a loyal worker, you’ll find none better.
Starting Technique:

... and—
“Heeeeave!”
There’s a sharp sound of strain as the diminutive form attempts to pull something from the smoking, damaged mini-ship. Metal groans and clicks, but for a moment, it looks completely immobile.
“Come on, you hunk of junk! Let goooo!! —“
clink!
The emergency pin finally snaps free, sending the Geck tumbling back into the snow as the rocket-engine block falls free of its chassis. There’s a moment of stillness here, accented by the sound of shuffling snow. Eventually, the little creature wades her way out of the snowdrift, damaged pin in hand. Little wings flutter, and a breath of air is shot up into her sagging crest of hair. This sort of weather isn’t something the little creature was ever used to. Snow is a new sensation, one that’s lost it’s novelty to the alien at an alarming rate. Why did it have to be Frost #97? Why couldn’t it have been Light Breeze #97, or Partially Cloudy #97?
A frustrated grunt signals Huela’s return to focus, and she tosses the pin aside, allowing the scrap to disappear past the surface of the snow. “Ugh, what a mess... well, at least you still work, huh?” comes a chatter to no individual in particular, padded hand patting gently against the warm, liberated engine block. It was something Huela was thankful for, really. While the ship, as a ship, was in complete disrepair, many of the parts could be utilized in other ways. The rocket engine, a flat piece of hull, some fins utilized into a rudder and stabilizers... with some counterweight applied to keep the engine from just taking the whole thing out, this ship could make for a feasible airboat. It wasn’t stylish, it wasn’t a long-term fix, and it’d probably break just as easily as it was slapped together, but in this snow? It was a saving grace. With it, she wouldn’t have to wade around in the snow. Her mobility would be greatly enhanced, and she could get—...
... Where was she going to go?
The little figure halts as this realization hits her. Was there anything even nearby? Or was this planet as barren as its name was literal? Huela turns, facing the blinding hills of snow and ice, trying to catch a glimpse of something —anything— that might just aid her in survival. Snow drifts, ice, plains of frost— there! Oh, it was so far away, just barely peeking over the visual horizon. Those weren’t snow banks; they were buildings! A city! A city meant people, and people should mean survival! Hopefully, it meant warmth, too...
Titian gaze shifts back to the gutted ship, a new light of conviction passing over each piece. It would take every ounce of craftsmanship to shape this pile of junk into something that just might survive the trip, but it’s obvious that the decision has been made. No big ball of ice was going to stop a Geck Engineer! Most problems could be fixed with a tweak of a wrench or two, and this was one of them!
“Alright. Let’s get to work.”
