You know, the best part about being a saiyan wasn't the natural strength that he was gifted with but instead the unlimited potential to grow for every single time he thought hit his limits, he had pushed through them and reached an even higher level of power. It was like it didn't stop, he'd hit the wall and then break through it shortly after and this wasn't just in regards to his power level but to his entire life. It was applied to his skills, his strategies, his fighting technique and of course his over all techniques. He just didn't stop growing, he couldn't stop because he had a challenge coming up. He had this feeling deep within his gut that this tournament was going to be more than eventful, it was going to be something special and he knew there was going to be very challenging warriors there to face and he knew he needed to beat them all and claim that prize money. Thinking back on what could help him win was obvious, power, strength, determination and obviously techniques. He knew he was well overdue for some new techniques and now was the time to start improving the ones he already had. He knew they were all solid and practical techniques but he could've improved on them so much more, make them stronger are less predictable. You see, Athren had a very long list of techniques that he wanted to create for himself but currently he thought it was going to be much more practical to improve on his older ones. It would be much easier improving the old ones than to completely create new ones.
Today, he had picked his technique of choice and was going to improve it. He was going to pick one of the most obvious, basic attacks he had. This technique was his Nova Bomber technique, it was designed by him specifically to cause damage to an opponent in the form of a ball of Ki. It really, couldn't have gotten any more basic than that besides his Nova Punch technique that was and that was also on his to upgrade list.
You see, Athren was very much well aware that to win this tournament he would need to combined all his efforts and abilities to pull it off, he couldn't just rely on one thing. He needed brute strength, yes but he also very much needed to be smart and strategic and pop out a few techniques that would surely confused the enemy because in a worst case scenario, he wasn't below the ring out even if that wasn't what he primarily wanted. He would much rather beat a fool into a state of unconsciousness than let the grass be the deciding factor of their fight. Regardless, he was going to be prepared for every single scenario and every single power level that came his way and he could've only hoped that some of them would've been stronger by a long shot. That's where he really thrived, that's where he was really excited. Fighting a much stronger opponent gave his heart such an exhilaration that he couldn't even describe it in words if he wanted too.
At this point in time Athren had found himself in the mountains, a place where we could train without causing any casualties or damage to important parts of the Earth. Plus, there wasn't anybody around to bother him. Today, he would've once again been in his normal attire which included his heavy training weights. You see, he didn't come out here without a plan or some kind accomplishment to achieve. He needed to make sure he was well prepared for the tournament and anything else to come his way and with his former experience of dealing with the meteorites, he knew that he needed to improve his techniques so he could draw out more power on demand. He wasn't going to allow himself to be brought down by his own lack of techniques. The saiyan was well aware that having a vast variety of techniques would always give him an edge in battle. It could leave him unpredictable and he also had a higher chance of being able to counter enemy techniques because he'd have such an arsenal to choose from. This was going to be his goal before the tournament began, it wasn't just to become stronger but it was to be more prepared in general.
He wasn't going to go down without a fight and if he did fight somebody stronger, he'd need to draw out all his strengths to win and this was going to be his way to victory. Not only would he be physically strong, well prepared strategically but he was going to have such an impressive arsenal of techniques that he'd blow the competition out of the water or at least thats what he was going to hope for. He knew the risks of such techniques in a confined area such as the tournament grounds but he was willing to risk it all, he would use them as required and only in the best of circumstances to insure that nobody else was going to be hurt by his actions. The only person that would receive any kind of harm would be his opponent, he was going to insure that none of the spectators in the stands would become a victim of his techniques.
It was time to get started and he couldn't help but smile, something about training himself to be better made him smile widely. It wasn't just the self improvement but the new moves he could pull off in the future would've made it all that much more worth it, he was a warrior after all and he loved to improve and the look on his opponents face when an overwhelming technique came their way, that was all the better too! He was going to dominate the land, the tournament, he was going to become the best of the best.
