You know what the worst part about leaving the PTO was? Really, it wasn't even the lack of fights he's had since then, it wasn't the fact that he didn't get provided with meals anymore, hell.. it wasn't even the facts that he no longer lived in the shacks. It was the simple fact that he no longer had wages, his hard work didn't get paid for these days and it made it quite the difficult for him to purchase the items that he ever so desired. You know, there really wasn't much that Athren was interested in when it came to material items but there was a few that he truly wanted. Of course, every single one of his desired items came down to them having the possibilities of improving his training sessions drastically and that was one of his goals, he needed to get stronger to be prepared for whatever was to come next. It might've been a mystery but it was a beautiful thing all at the same time, the fact that he didn't know what was next couldn't been just as scary as it was exciting but he knew he had to prepare himself for it. Whether it had been the PTO or something completely different, he needed to work on himself every single day to insure that he'd come out on top and remain the victor. That's just how it had to be because his belief was simple, the strong survive while the weak perish and he was going to live his whole life following that one simple rule.
It was surely something else if one were to think about it, the whole 'The strong survive while the weak perish.' Basically it meant that his death was going to come the second he fought somebody superior. It might've been a very basic and simple mindset but it was one that he adopted from his life of conquering other planets. It wasn't the easiest of lives but it was one that shaped him into the very hardened warrior that he was today. In all honesty, he couldn't help but be grateful that he had the kind of life he did. The facts were simple, he was as strong as he was today because of his very challenging lifestyle and if he didn't believe in what he did, he never would've been even close to this strong. The facts were that his own mindset pushed him to stay alive and to become stronger than his opponents, he couldn't afford to lose or be kept down, he needed to continue to rise every time he fell and show the universe what a real saiyan warrior was capable of. He had heart, he had the power, he had the motivation and now all he needed to do was push through everything and continue to show the universe just how strong he was.
The only real difference now between his actions then and now was his equipment, he didn't have the full arsenal of the PTO backing him up and supporting his training methods and that meant that he wasn't fortunate enough to get a gravity chamber or heavy training weights anymore and those were two very much desired items for the young saiyan because he knew how beneficial they were to his training. He needed them if he wanted to maximize his time training and get stronger faster but the issue was, how was he going to get his hands on these damn fine items? He didn't have a job and that meant he didn't have any money and the fact that he didn't have any money meant he couldn't just buy them like a normal person. Bringing his hand to his chin he rubbed it gently as he briefly thought about this. "Hmm." He said to himself as he thought of possible ideas to get his hands on what he needed.
Though plenty of options had run through his mind there had only been two that had really stood out and been simple to pull off. Those two options would've been either to go straight to the Red Ribbon Corporations main warehouse and just take what he wanted or rob a bank to get the money required. The thing was, he knew that Kira wouldn't approve of either of the two options but surely he'd get over it. The fact was that Kira's opinion wouldn't really matter in this case, why would it? Athren needed this stuff in order to get stronger and Kira would have to accept that it was for good reason. Sure, maybe someday Athren would've went legitimate with his purchases but until they had money, Athren wasn't getting anything else. Of course, his gravity chamber would have to wait for a while but the weighted set? It seemed like it was an absolute waste for one to just be sitting around being unused and Athren wasn't going to have that.
"Ah, Screw it." Athren mumbled to himself as he left their small little capsule house that resided in the middle of nowhere and blasted off into the sky, his plan was simple at this point in time for he just wanted to observe the big city and which of his two options would've been the better one to choose. Sure, the Red Ribbon would've been highly secured but he figured there would be less eyes on him than at the biggest bank in West City. Plus, he doubted that the Red Ribbon Corp would want to advertise that somebody broke in and managed to steal something in their main building. That just wouldn't be good for a company that also had countless home security products. It didn't take too long before Athren got a visual of the city in the distance and as he closed in he picked a rooftop near the Red Ribbon's building to get a better look. Landing on it he walked to the edge and his ocean blue eyes began scanning the area.
Athren would've sat on the rooftop for quite a few hours observing the Red Ribbon's setup and routines, if he was going to do this he was going to go in and try to be completely unnoticed. Of course this was going to be a challenge for him simply because he wasn't the stealth type. His missions in the past were always based around a full on frontal assault and that was the way he liked it, face to face fights were his thing and he preferred one on ones or even being completely outnumbered. This though, was going to be very new to him. Maybe he would've blown his cover but he was going to try to make the attempt at a stealthy entrance. The bank had crossed his mind but he came to the solid conclusion that this would be much more discreet and that's what he needed, the last thing he wanted was for his face to be plastered all over the news and like he thought before, they wouldn't advertise this kind of thing so it was his absolute best option.
Even though he wasn't the patient type he decided to wait out until a majority of the staff went home, this would give him less eyes to deal with while he tried to sneak his way into the compound. Surely, the security guards would still be their but they weren't equipped good enough to deal with a saiyan warrior. They were equipped to deal with the average human. While their weapon's might've intimidated a majority of the planet, they couldn't even manage to break Athren's skin so he didn't have a single thing to worry about. Athren would've waited until twelve O'clock midnight before he made his move and once that time came, it was time to act.
"Well, Let's get this over with." He muttered to himself in his typical crossed arms pose. Finally he had decided to act, he leaped off the building and just as his feet touched the ground he launched himself forwards to the wall beside the buildings front gate. He placed his back against it for a brief moment as he wanted to remain in the shadows and out of sight. He took a small breath before turning around and leaping on top of the brick fencing and once again the second his foot touched down on the ground he took another large leap. This time, he cleared a massive amount of distanced and gained some height. His goal was to land on the roof and that's exactly what he did and luckily not one single guard had caught wind of him yet.
Now that he had been on the rooftop he walked over to a large window that had been installed in the roof and luckily for him there was still one panel open. It must've been his lucky day, he didn't need to make noise and break glass. All he needed to do was enter and find the inventory room to grab himself some weights. He would've lifted the glass window up further so he could've fit through it easily and he hopped down into the light filled room. His boots touched down against the nicely waxed tile floor and his ocean blue eyes immediately started scanning for trouble, yet there wasn't any to be found anywhere. "Hm.." He mumbled as he was kind of shocked, at this point he assumed he would've needed to drop a guard or two but that obviously wasn't the case at all. "Now where?" He asked himself quietly as he started walking down a hallway. His eyes scanned each and every door for a label but nothing had caught his eye as he walked down the hallway.
What Athren didn't know at this time was a camera had sent a quite alarm to every guard on the premises and they were slowly making their way towards him. Of course, this wasn't going to be too much of a bother considering they would've been easy targets. Hallway after hallway, Athren walked and continued to scan the rooms for any indication of what he was looking for and finally he found it, it was a room labelled 'overstock' which gave him a pretty clear idea that they're extra inventory was in this room. He quickly opened the door and slipped in. It was a large room with countless isles of overflow inventory and at this point he began walking through each and every single row looking for his heavy weighted gear. "C'mon, Where are you?" He muttered to himself again as he continued his search.
Of course it had to be the absolute last row that Athren looked in but he ended up finding the heavy weights that he desired so much, hell.. he couldn't even help but smirk. Quickly he gripped onto one set of the heavy weighted training gear and tucked it under his left arm, it was now time for him to make his great escape. He was going to go out the exact same way that he came in. At this point he quickly left the storage room and made his way down the hall back to the lobby with the window in the ceiling.
"Stop right there!" Said a voice in a large crowd of men whom were all bearing arms and aiming at the saiyan warrior. Their numbers gave them a massive amount of confidence and the fact that they had been well armed made it so they were comfortable. Unfortunately for them, they didn't know what they were going to be up against.
At this point Athren chuckled lightly, he shook his head and simply stated. "You really don't want to do this." Once Athren had said this the leader of the crew had decided to try and be a little bit pressing, intimidating and maybe even trying to show off a little bit. This was something that Athren wasn't overly fond of. Considering how the man wasn't going to be able to back it up at all.
"Put the item down and put your god damn hands up!" He said as he cocked his rifle and put a round in the chamber. At this point every single one of the goons did it. Surely, they had no idea what was about to happen but they would've been lucky that Athren wanted to go unnoticed as possible. He didn't want to kill them all because surely that would've made one hell of a scene.
Before they even knew what hit them Athren tossed the weights at their main leader and immediately took him out, he then applied his speed and began taking them out one by one with single punches to their faces, stomachs and even light hits to their neck. He did it in a way that nobody would've died just to cover his own ass. It took Athren less than ten seconds to drop all these guards and they had all hit the ground at the exact same time and the thud was a satisfying one at best. He couldn't help but chuckle. "See, I told you." He stated as he walked over to his new piece of equipment and picked it up off the ground.
It was at this point that he slowly lifted himself off the ground and flew out the opened window above, he immediately blasted off back towards his capsule house. As he flew he glanced down at the weights that he carried and smirked. He knew these things were going to be a massive game changer for him, they were going to make him so much stronger than he already was. He was going to have the potential to face off against the leader of the PTO at this rate and that excited him. He felt like he had endless opportunities now and could be on anybody's level, hell.. maybe he could've even placed himself in the position of the strongest in the universe. Now that would've been one hell of a title to take.
Now all that was left to make that a reality was putting the weights to good use and that's exactly what he intended to do. He was going to train harder than every before and do it daily, there wasn't going to be a day off, or a long period of relaxation. He was going to train non stop to get to the top. He was going to become something of legend, he was going to become the best fighter in the universe. Little did he know, that this was going to come in handy a lot sooner than he thought for there was a worlds martial arts tournament coming around the corner and the prize money could've gotten him a gravity chamber. All the pieces were slowly falling into place, all he had to do now was work his ass off for it and that, was something a saiyan always did.
